Blake
When Remington came back I got nervous. He obviously was very open about every slightly sexual experience he has had and I felt embarrassed by actually liking the kiss we had. I like to see myself as this big, strong, bad ass, woman who doesn't need love or affection especially having to stoop down to the level of the king of idiots himself. Liking Remington as a person is already not a popular opinion. Warren looked like he wanted to shoot himself when he woke up seeing that Remington had come back. Then again I think the idea of it not being socially acceptable to like Remington made it more— exciting. Not that I like him, but kissing him and getting that adrenaline rush of not wanting to get caught was somewhat exciting. Except when Reece saw us. That was incredibly embarrassing.
"I think I would've been popular in high school. If I had the chance to go." Corban said confidently as he stared into the fire we made outside.
Remington immediately looked up from the dead rabbit he was cooking for himself with a smug look on his face, "Oh Corban. I'm sorry to break it to you but you would've been just one of those weird quiet kids. You would've been just as popular as Warren probably was."
"What do you mean?" Warren asked as he glanced up, "I was popular in high school."
"Really? You? Mr. Smartass was popular?" Remington asked.
Warren looked at him confused, "Well I was eleven when I started high school and graduated when I was thirteen. So yeah. A lot of people knew who I was even though I never talked to anyone."
Remington frowned.
"What year did you graduate Warren?" I asked.
"Two-thousand-and-two." Warren said.
"Woah... that's like a million years ago." Reece muttered.
"Not really but you graduated from high school exactly thirty years ago." Corban said, "OH! Wait Warren!"
"What?"
"You were alive when nine-eleven happened!" Corban exclaimed.
Reece gasped, "Were you really?!"
"I was too." Remington grumbled.
"Wh- why are you all so excited..? Nine-eleven was a horrible tragedy..." Warren asked in a confused voice.
"Did you see it happen on TV? My dad said he saw it on TV." Corban said.
"Yes I did— guys it was a horrible horrible thing to happen. You shouldn't act all excited about it." Warren said in a serious tone.
"That's all we've been told our whole lives! Everyone has always talked about how big of an event nine-eleven was but we never got to learn about it." Reece whined.
Me and Elias looked at each other and shared a shrug, we were in this strange gray area in this situation due to the fact we were born after nine-eleven but were heavily educated on it in school. I guessed Cleveland was the same way but Cleveland didn't really talk or make eye contact with anyone besides Warren unless it was necessary. I kinda felt bad for him he seemed so scared of talking to people, I think he might have some sort of social disorder.
After Warren explained to everyone why nine-eleven was so bad and accidentally making Reece cry out of guilt for being excited about it we all started to head back inside to go to bed one by one. I waited until everyone else left so I could talk to Remington. I needed to make it very clear before he started running his mouth or before his very clear narcissistic tendency's sat waiting for too long and formed ideas of his own.
We both watched as Corban said goodnight to us and helped Elias back into the house leaving me and Remington as the last two people outside. Without missing a beat just as the door shut Remington turned to me and opened his stupid mouth.
