I was incredibly scared. I needed to talk to Corban and Reece. We needed to get out, Remington is definitely an ex-Syndicate and we've been in danger this entire time. It was around the evening we could still think of plan for escaping at night. The Syndicates were settling down as they all went to eat dinner together a little ways away from us, far enough where they wouldn't hear us if we whispered.

"Corban." I whispered.

"Yeah?" Corban whispered back.

"We need a plan to get out of here." I whispered, "do you think we can make a plan?"

"Uh possibility? Maybe Remington has a knife in his back pocket." Corban whispered.

"Wait Corban—"

"Remington, Remington!" Corban whispered yelled, "What Elias?"

"I— Um... nothing, sorry, I'll tell you later." I whispered.

"What Corban?" Remington asked.

Corban shushed him, "Do you have a knife in your back pocket?"

"Yes I always do." Remington whispered back.

"You can get us out then!" Corban whispered excitedly.

"Yeah I know dipshit I'm waiting for the right moment." Remington said in a hushed voice.

"They're all eating know." Corban whispered.

"Yeah it's better if we wait til night, when there's only one guard we won't have to out run twenty-five people." Remington explained.

I sat there for a moment and thought. How would I tell Reece and Corban? Would they believe me? What if there's something I'm missing that Corban will point out and I'll just look like a dick? How do we escape? What happens if Remington finds out? What if he tracks us down? What if he hurts us? He's already hurt me by slapping me just the other night... what will he do when we all try to leave? Should I even tell them my suspicions? Why hasn't Corban picked up on any of this?

Has Remington seriously been lying to me all these years.

The next thing I knew I was being shaken awake. I opened my eyes and saw Remington staring right in my face. I screamed and Remington immediately put his hand over my mouth.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"You startled me..." I whispered, though that was a little true I mostly screamed because of how terrified I am of him now.

"Well you're free to go now." He whispered as he stood up and walked over to the next pole.

I lifted my hands forward and winced from the pain in my elbows for being held so stiff for around twelve or so hours. I stood up with Corban and we went over to untie Warren and Cleveland. As we woke them up and struggled to untie them we heard a voice.

"Hello?"

"Shit." Corban whispered.

"Hey? Hey what are you guys doing?! HEY?!"

It was the guard.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT." Corban exclaimed as he finished untying Warren and Cleveland. We all shot up and ran over to Remington who was helping Blake and Reece.

"What about our stuff? I have the information about my daughter—"

"We don't have time! I can write you a new one!" Corban explained cutting off Warren as we ran.

"HEY THE PRISONERS ARE GETTING AWAY!" The guard exclaimed.

"Shit." Remington muttered, "They have my gun."

"Leave it let's go!" Reece exclaimed.

"I can't that's the most precious thing we own collectively!" Remington exclaimed.

"GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!" Another Syndicate shouted.

"We're going." Blake said as she grabbed Remingtons hand and took off.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!"

"GET THE GUN!"

"Oh fuck me..." Remington grumbled as we ran, "THEY'RE GOING TO SHOOT US WITH MY OWN FUCKING GUN!"

"SHUT UP AND RUN YOU IDIOT!" Corban exclaimed.

Suddenly a shot was fired.

I kicked it into high gear sprinting as fast as I possibly could. I stared at the ground as I ran, if I stepped into a hole I was done for.

Another shot, then immediately after I felt a seeding pain shoot through the back of my calf. I fell to the ground and screamed in pain as I felt a burning hole in the back of my leg.

"ELIAS?!"

"THEY SHOT ME!" I cried, "HELP! HELP ME PLEASE!"

"GET HIM!" One of the Syndicates yelled.

I watched back in horror as they ran up to me, suddenly someone grabbed me by my shirt collar and dragged me across the ground a few meters before Cleveland grabbed me, and threw me onto his back and took off. The whole time I was in anguish there was a whole entire whole through my leg that burned and hurt immensely, the bullet felt like molten steel melting the flesh inside my leg. It felt like my leg was being burned from the inside out. I had to bite my knuckle to prevent myself from crying.

They ran for a bit more before they stopped, Cleveland set me on the ground while the others just stared at me.

"C'mon, Blake, Reece, lets go divert them away from here." Remington said as he panted, "Were not in the clear yet."

"Oh god more running?" Reece groaned.

"REECE MY LEG IS ON FUCKING FIRE PLEASE!" I exclaimed.

"Elias please don't scream." Warren muttered as he knelt down in front of me.

"This shit hurts like a bitch man! Don't tell me to stop screaming you don't know— how it feels to get shot! Oh God... Fuck..."

Warren muttered something underneath his breath I couldn't understand while I sat there squirming and kicking my other leg, doing anything to get the pain down.

"Elias stop squirming and tell me which leg it is." Warren ordered.

"Left!" I groaned as I stuck my arm in my mouth and bit down.

"Corban I need you to build a fire, fast and bright."

"You got it!" Corban exclaimed as he hurried off to go get fire wood.

"Okay I see no exit wound in the front... Elias I need you to lay on your stomach for me." Warren said in a shockingly calm voice.

I slowly rolled over as my hands gripped the grass as hard as I could. "Isn't there something you can do?" I whimpered, "Some trick to make it stop hurting so bad?"

"Yeah it's called stop moving around so damn much." Warren said as he felt around my leg until he got to the bullet hole, "Corban the fire..."

"I'm trying!" Corban responded.

Warren sighed, "Elias I'm sorry."

"What what why?"

"I have to stick my finger in your leg."

"No NO WARREN PLEASE!"

"I have to see how far down it is."

"WARREN PLEASE."

"I'll do it on the count of three, Cleveland hold him please." Warren said.

"N-N-NO WARREN! WARREN PLEASE!"

"One..."

"WARREN I SWEAR TO GOD!"

"Two,"

"WARREN DO NOT STICK YOUR FINGER IN MY LEG—"

"Three."

Warren stuck his finger in my leg hole. And I screamed louder than I expected.
