Corban

"Alright let's go over everyone's jobs one last time, Blake you start." I announced as we all sat around behind the trees in the dead of night. Waiting for the right time to attack the two night guards at the Syndicate camp keeping us from escaping.

"I'm the distraction, I'll run horizontally to the left and make a scene it will draw at least one of the guards out to see what's going on, one may stay at camp or they might both come." Blake explained, "Once there a safe distance away I'll start running and get them to chase me."

"That's where I run out of the forest and after Blake and the guards." Elias says, "While they're distracted chasing after Blake I'll tackle them from behind."

"Is it my turn now? Okay, uh that's when me Warren, Cleveland, Corban, and Remington run past on the right side of their camp." Reece added.

"And if there's guard still at camp Corban will create a small distraction at the entrance to their camp while Cleveland and I sneak around in opposite sides and attack him from behind. Then we'll restrain him and make sure his mouth is covered so he can't call for reinforcements." Remington explained.

"And you'll be wearing your mask and hood in case your recognized." Warren added onto Remingtons explanation.

"Yes and I'll be wearing my mask and hood." Remington echoes.

"Alright. Everyone good? No questions?" I asked as I looked at everyone who just nodded in agreement, "Okay Blake when I give you the signal you go."

"You got it." Blake replied before she turned her head around as we sat at opposite sides of a large oak tree, both of us eyeing the camp up ahead that had been set at the very beginning of the large clearing up ahead.

"Warren you said you're a doctor right?" Remington asked.

"Yes," Warren said.

"You know anything about brains?"

"Well I do have a doctorate in neurosurgery and four PhD's in the studying of different parts of the brain."

"I just asked if you knew anything about brains you didn't have to give me every single degree you have." Remington responded bitterly.

"Oh sorry I didn't want to rub it in your face that you only have a high school diploma— oh wait, you said you didn't graduate high school. Huh weird, at least you have your eight grade "diploma" or do they even give those out? I mean how would I know? I skipped sixth and seventh grade and I passed eight grade four months before the rest of my class." Warren riposted.

"Wow congratulations would like a medal for all of that? Because none of that matters now smart guy, tell me how does it feel to have all those years of hard work go down the drain now education doesn't matter anymore?"

"Hey I don't know if you've noticed but now isn't exactly the time to be arguing right now." Elias warned.

I glanced back to see Remington and Warren glaring at each other, "Remington what was it you wanted to ask Warren?" I asked as I turned my head back around to watch the camp.

"I was going to ask what would be the best spot to hit someone in the head that would put em asleep the fastest." Remington angrily muttered.

"You're seriously going to try and knock people out?" Warren asked.

"I don't know smart guy kinda seems like the best option!" Remington snapped back.

"...The best spot is actually on the jaw, it delivers a lot more shock to the brain, that or the temporal bone." Warren answered bitterly.

"Oh I'm sorry what's a temporal bone? See I'm just and idiot and I can't understand your big fancy medicine words." Remington asked in an annoyingly overly sarcastic voice.

"It's your temple Remington." I said, "Now can you knock it off already? We're almost ready."

"Hey I'm not the only one messing with someone! Warren is doing it back to me!" Remington retorted.

"Remington shut up." Elias ordered.

"Then tell Warren to shut up too!" Remington argued.

"See that's the thing Remington I stopped talking about six sentences ago." Warren angrily whispered back.

"Well not anymore I guess now huh?" Remington teased.

"Remington will you literally shut the fuck up and just be an adult for a fucking minute?" Blake snapped.

"Why is everyone ganging up on me!" Remington exclaimed.

"Remington shut up!" Blake and Elias said in unison.

I turned back and watched Remington roll his eyes and look away, I turned my head back and watched the camp. I waited for a good few seconds in silence before I looked over at Blake.

"Are you ready?" I whispered.

"Yep." Blake said as she stood up.

"Be careful." I said as she began walking to the left.

"Don't worry I always am." She said turning her back to me as she started running through the remainder of the trees.

I turned back to the face the others, "Alright we're going to move up more this means we whisper from this point on, and no arguments." I turned back and stood up. Carefully I lead the others closer to the edge of the forest. We cautiously stepped over twigs and leaves as we moved up to a fallen down oak tree that looked to be decaying into the ground. We all crouched behind it and looked over watching as we could barely see Blake jogging in the area not too far away from the Syndicate camp site.

We watched as the guards watched her try to run past, one of the guards immediately left and started chasing after her. Elias stood up and started going right so he could sneak around and meet up with Blake and the unsuspecting guard.

We watched as Elias successful ran around to the right side of camp and disappeared between the several tens and equipment without the second guard seeing. That was my que to step in. Instead of coming from the left or the right I was coming from the middle to not give away any of the other ways the others would be sneaking behind me. I ran through the woods and ran up to the entrance of camp and quickly gained the attention of the Syndicate guard.

"What the hell are you doing here!" I yelled as I ran up to the entrance, "Get out of my town, filthy Syndicates like you don't belong here!"

The guard ran toward me faster than I expected, I froze in my tracks as I watched her bolt toward me I watched as she pulled out a sword and swung. I dropped to my knees as she swung right over my head. Using the ground to my advantage I pushed my self off with my arms and ran towards camp trying to keep myself from falling as I shifted my body weight upward. The female guard followed. With the sword in hand she ran up to me and swung and second time, missing me as a leaned to the side and ducking to avoid its sharp blade.

"What are you doing?!" I exclaimed.

"Making sure you don't warn your people." The guard said before she raised her sword over her head and sprinted toward me with a burst of energy.

I turned around to run but was stopped as I felt the blade pierce my right shoulder blade and drag down across to the left side of my lower back. I felt to the ground as I cried out from the stinging pain traveling along my back. This wasn't in the plan.

I glanced up from the ground for a brief moment, out of the corner of my eye I could see Remington running on the right side of camp to attack the guard from behind, and right in front of me was the guards foot that was just about to send a devastating kick right to my face.
