Elias
Remington then walked into view. A guard was leading him out of the hallway and back into the cell room. I looked across the hall at Blake and she gave me a nod. Me and Reece say silently as Remington was walked back over. The guard pulled out his keys and unlocked the door with one hand while holding onto Remington with the other, I watched carefully as the door was wide open. Then just as the guard began to push Remington in, Remington threw his head back knocking the guard right in the face.
Our plan had now been put into action.
Reece and I ran out I twisted the guards arms behind his back and pushed him to the ground while Reece grabbed the keys and unlocked Corban, Warren, and Cleveland's cell along with Blake's.
"HELP! THEY'RE ESCAPING!" The guard yelled from under my grip. I looked over at Remington while Blake cut the rope around his hands with a small blade she had snuck in.
"REMINGTON!" The deer lady screamed as she ran into the room with back up.
"RUN!" Remington ordered.
I got off the guard and sprinted to the exit. The deer lady stood in front as she called more over her guards over. Blake then threw the small knife she had snuck in at the deer lady, successful making her flinch giving us the space to run out of there.
"DON'T LET PRINCE ESCAPE!" The deer lady ordered as she ran after us.
I ran through town where we had been walked in just a few hours ago. Sprinting as fast as I could the faces of confused and scared residents whizzed past my face. I took a glance behind me just as I exited the town, everyone was following behind me, along with several of the deer ladies guards.
Suddenly I felt my foot hit something and I fell to the ground. I immediately pushed myself up on the grass only to feel someone trip over me, Remington landed next to me and yelled at the others to keep running. I watched as he pulled out his gun and held it up for the guards to see.
They immediately stopped in there tracks. Guns are extremely hard to come across, you see someone with a gun around these days, you do whatever they say no matter what.
"HE'S BLUFFING!" The deer lady yelled at she caught up with us, "THAT GUN IS NOT LOADED! Do you know how hard it is to come across ammo?"
Remington grabbed me by the arm and pulled me up as he stood up, keeping the gun point at the deer lady and her guards. As I got to my feet Remington pushed me back as he backed up slowly.
"Catch up with the others." He whispered to me.
"ITS NOT LOADED WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" The deer lady ordered.
Remington sighed and then shot.
One of the guards screamed in pain as he collapsed with a bleeding leg.
"ARE YOU SURE DIANE BECAUSE THAT LOOKS LOADED TO ME!" Remington shouted as he continued to back up before turning around and running to catch up with me and the others who were now running through the forest to get away.
"Okay... I think we're far enough away..." Remington panted as he slowly sunk to the ground.
A sigh of relief came over all of us as we all lowered our tired aching bodies to the ground. I don't know how long we had been running for but we were sure far away. I knew we couldn't stay long, we would have to keep moving so we couldn't be tracked.
"That was close..." Reece breathed.
"I didn't know you had a gun... how did you sneak it in your cell with you?" Blake asked as she panted, "How do you even have a gun?"
"He's got an addiction to stealing," Corban breathed, "Remington can hide anything."
"Where do you even find a gun?" Blake asked.
"Luck. That's how." Remington muttered, "Fuck me man, I only have two more bullets left. God knows the next time we'll come across more."
"At least you have some." Blake muttered.
"How is everyone? Elias and Remington you guys fell are you alright?" Cleveland asked.
"I'm okay, I just scraped my knee that's all." I say.
"I'm okay too, what about the old timer?" Remington asked as he looked over at Warren.
"I'm not old," Warren panted, "I'm forty-three."
"That's still old." Remington shrugged.
"Oh I wouldn't be talking if I were you Mr. Prince, you're not exactly a spring chicken yourself." Warren scoffed.
"Who the hell still uses that expression?" Blake murmured.
"What do you mean?! I am not old!" Remington retorted with a bit of a nervous laugh.
"Really?" Warren asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Really!" Remington retaliated.
"What Remington how old are you?" Corban asked.
"Yeah! I don't think you've ever told us!" Reece said.
"Age isn't important! I don't know Cleveland's age and I don't care!" Remington argued.
"I'm twenty-two," Cleveland said.
"Okay— well I don't know Blake's age!"
"Blake doesn't count we just met her!" Reece protested.
"Thirty-one," Blake said bluntly.
Remington stared at Blake with a betrayed look on his face while she just flashed back a smug look.
"Now you gotta tell us how old you are now!" Reece said.
"Fine! God since apparently everyone's so oppressed with ages all the sudden... I'm twenty-nine." Remingtons said.
"BS! I CALL BULLSHIT!" I announced.
"WH— Elias?!" Remington exclaimed.
"I know that's a lie because you told me you were twenty-eight when you met me four years ago!"
"That doesn't count! You gotta tell us your real age!" Reece said.
"Nope. I said I was twenty-nine. That's all I'm going to say." Remington said as he crossed his arms.
"Well you're at least thirty-two, and that's if you weren't lying when you first met me." I said confidently.
"Wow Mr.Detective man would you like a metal?" Remington asked sarcastically.
"I don't understand why you feel like you need to hide your age Remington, getting old isn't something to be ashamed about." Warren said.
"You're only saying that because you have too many gray hairs to cover up." Remington riposted.
Warren shrugged, "Okay. I don't care about my gray hair."
"Congratulations then." Remington muttered.
"There's no way you're not older than me." Blake said.
"What's that suppose to mean?!" Remington exclaimed.
"You just look old! I'm sorry Remington but there's no way you're twenty-nine." Blake laughed.
Remington looked away looking slightly flushed, "Wow, if I would've known everyone was going to try and carbon-date me the second we got out, I wouldn't have broken y'all out in the first place. Ungrateful asses." Remington said as he stood up, "Now let's stop trying to guess how old I am and let's start walking so we don't get caught. Again."
