I took the next day off still thinking about what happened the night before. I walked into the break room only to see the handsome man himself. Midas was sitting at the table eating a bowl of fruit. He got up to go put the bowl in the sink.
"Good morning sweetheart," he said kissing my head.
"Good morning."
He turned to me and said, "I never asked you last night, but would you like to be my girlfriend?"
I smiled and replied, "Yes Midas. I would love to."
He chuckled at my comment.
"Well doll I have to get back to my office. I'll see you later."
He left the break room and I sat at the table eating a bagel. Maya walked into the break room. She walked to the fridge and grabbed a energy drink. She turned and glared at me as she walked out. I shrugged off the weird behavior and I continued eating. Not even a minute later Tina walked in.
"Hey Tina can I ask you something?"
"Yeah what's up?"
"I feel like Maya has a problem with me, but I can't figure out why. I haven't done anything wrong."
Tina looked down and replied, "Well, to be honest, she's probably jealous of you."
"Jealous? What? Why?"
"Well ever since she got here, she has had a huge crush on Midas. Whenever they are together she flirts with him like crazy, but never seems to get his attention. She's probably mad because you caught his attention and she didn't."
I looked up at her, "That's a stupid reason to hate someone."
Tina shrugged her shoulders and looked through the pantry for something to eat. I got up and left the break room. I kept thinking about her being jealous. I felt bad but at the same I felt proud of myself for getting someone like him. As I was walking back to my room I felt someone grab my arm. I looked and saw a gold hand grab me. I was pulled into Midas' office and was pinned against a wall.
