Another week had passed with no action. The Agency was very quiet and everyone was starting to get bored. I was playing cards with Skye in the break room when a henchman came over the loudspeaker.
"Attention all agents. There will be a meeting held at 1:30. Midas asks that you all be there."
Skye and I both looked at each other and shrugged. We finished our game and headed down to the meeting room. Once we got there everyone starting piling in. I looked over to my right and saw Agent Peely working at a computer.
"Does he never leave his desk?" I asked Skye.
"Not often. He is always trying to hack into Shadow's base. He won't rest until he gets in. He'll occasionally come up to the break room everyday for food. He only sleeps for 6 hours a night though."
A door opened and Midas walked into the room. He took a seat at the head of the table and began talking.
"I know these past few weeks have been slow, but we must not let our guard down. Who knows what Shadow is planning. I was thinking and I believe that it's time for a mission. A few of you will go over to Shadows base at the Grotto and spy. You will gather information based upon what they say and what you see. The team for this mission will be Tina, Brutus and Y/N," Midas said looking at me.
"But- that's not fair!" Maya exclaimed, "She just got here and shes doing a mission some of has have been training for, for months?"
"Midas is trying to give Y/N a shot here Maya. You should be happy for her," Skye chimed in.
Midas glanced at Maya, "If you don't like the way I run things here then you can leave."
Maya crossed her arms and sat back in her chair.
"The mission starts in an hour. Go up and get ready agents. As for the rest of you, you will each be paired with on of them. You will each have an ear piece in to communicate with your partner. Skye you will have Y/N, Mewoscles you have Brutus and Maya you have Tina," Midas handed everyone an earpiece.
I went upstairs to my room and couldn't find anything suitable to wear. I went out of my closet and saw a box laying on my dresser.
"I think you'll be needing this for your missions," -M
I opened the box to see a black jumpsuit. It had a zipper running from my chest to my throat. I put it on. It was skin tight. I unzipped it so that the zipper laid right on my chest. I looked back in the box to see a pair of combat boots the same color as my jumpsuit. I put them on then braided my hair. I grabbed my gun and left.
I met up with my team and we went out to the dock to board a boat. I turned my head and saw Midas looking at us through his window. I turned back and got on the boat.
We finally arrived at the Grotto and I placed my earpiece in. I fiddled with it for a second until I heard a small beep.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey Y/N it's me Skye."
"We just got to the Grotto, we are heading in now."
I grabbed my gun and walked into the grotto. It was filled with Shadow henchmen. I turned every corner with caution. I approached a room and saw that there were two henchmen in there talking.
"Wait until they find out what we have planned for them. They think we've stopped but this weekend they won't expect a thing," one henchman said.
I turned and covered my mouth. I heard footsteps approaching the door and I quickly ran around the corner. Both henchmen had left the room. I quickly ran into the room seeing if I could find anything. I saw a file on the desk that ready Confidential. I quickly grabbed it and said into my earpiece, "Skye I have a file with their information. They are planning to attack the Agency this weekend."
"Copy that," Skye responded.
I walked out of the room only to run into a henchman. We both looked at each other before I made a run for it.
"I've been spotted, repeat I've been spotted."
"Copy that, we will inform Tina and Brutus, but for your safety get the hell out of there."
I pushed myself to run as fast as I could. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two henchmen aiming their guns at me. I quickly grabbed my Scar and shot both of them. I found an opening which led out onto some cliffs. I looked around trying to find a place to go.
"Up there!"
I turned to see Tina and Brutus running towards me. Tina was pointing to a hill on my left with a trail. We all run up it and to our luck the boat was right there. I let out a sigh of relief but it wasn't long until we heard a whistle noise.
"Watch out!" Brutus yelled.
One of the henchmen had a rocket launcher and was trying to blow up our boat. Tina hopped on the boat and ushered us on. She started it up and boosted it out of the dock.
"We made it out Skye. We are heading back now," I said as I looked down at the document I possessed.
Brutus and Tina both looked at me and smiled.
"Nice job for your first mission. Midas will be proud," Tina said smiling.
