I slowly started to open my eyes. I turned to look outside and saw it was still dark out. I blinked a few times to try and adjust to the dark room. I checked the clock to see it was two in the morning. I groaned. I turned back to see Midas laying next to me. His arm was still wrapped around me. His mouth was open a tiny bit and his breathing was slow and steady. I smiled and stared at him. He was very handsome. My heart started to race the more I stared at him. I snuggled up with him and closed my eyes hoping I'd fall back asleep.

The morning light shined through the windows hitting my eyes. I woke up to hear birds chirping. I looked over to where Midas was sleeping, to see him gone. I got up and walked over to his bathroom. I knocked on the door but got no response. I looked around wondering where he was. Then I remembered the weird message we all got yesterday. He was probably holding some sort of meeting with the henchmen discussing their jobs. I walked out of his room and back to mine. Once I got in I got ready for the day. I looked in my closet thinking about what I wanted to wear. I wasn't planning on training today so I figured I'd go with something more comfy but cute. I grabbed a tight white t-shirt and some mom jeans. I tucked the shirt into them and finished off the outfit with a belt. I braided my hair down my shoulder and left. I ran into Tina as I was walking out of my room.

"Good morning Y/N," Tina smiled.

"Morning Tina. Have you seen Midas by any chance?"

"Oh I believe he's talking to some of the henchmen about their new positions. He should be finishing up by now."

"Thank you Tina. Movie later with Skye?" I asked.

"Of course. I'll bring the popcorn," Tina responded.

I walked down the hall towards Midas' office to see a few henchmen leaving. As I approached the door I saw Maya walking towards me. She had an aggressive look on her face.

"Move it," she hissed.

"Oh I'm sorry," I said.

She barged into Midas' office and shut the door in my face. I could hear them mumbling about something. Then I heard foot steps approach the door. I backed away from it and saw Maya storm out of the room. Before the door completely shut, I grabbed it and knocked, poking my head into the office.

"Bad time?" I asked.

"Hello Y/N," Midas said.

I walked into the room and saw Midas looked stressed. I sat down next to him and laid my hand on his back.

"What's wrong? You seem very stressed. You can talk to me you know," I said reassuringly.

He sighed, "It's that stupid thing from Shadow. It's got me on the edge of my seat, constantly. I barely slept last night because that's all I could think about. I just don't want anything to happen. Especially to you Y/N."

He looked at me with a serious face, but there was some sadness in it. I looked down, then back at him.

"Listen, everything will be ok, alright? We are all trained well enough to handle whatever is thrown at us."

He showed a small smile, "Thank you darling, but it would make me feel ten times better if you would not leave my side. That means staying with me at night. Being in my office most of the day, and checking in with me every so often. I just can't let anything happen to you love."

"Oh Midas you won't have to worry about me, but if that's what will make you feel better, then I'll do it. Anything for you."

I stood up and kissed the top of his head. He stood up with me and we both walked over to his door. He grabbed the door knob before me. I turned around to see him looking at me. He grabbed my chin and lifted it so my lips met his. He then pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and took everything in. His scent, his muscle, the way he held me. We both pulled away smiling.
