Noemi sat outside Capsule Corp with the garage door open half way. She had one leg out and one pulled into her chest. She looked out into the once great West City, her onyx eyes carefully surveying every inch. She only moved to pull her cotton candy pink hair into a high ponytail. It was small, as her hair was just a bit past shoulder length. She brushed her long bangs behind her ears.

The seven-year-old girl moved her eyes to the sun. It was a bit past midday, and he would be there soon. At the thought, she tightened her brown tail around her waist.

He would be furious. And she hoped he would only take his anger out on her. Noemi eyed inside the garage, sensing Bulma and Ken-La in the living quarters. She would have to keep them safe. She loved them, and she would do anything to keep them alive.

I can't let them die, too..., Noemi thought solemnly.

"You're not the kid I wanted to see."

Noemi flinched and turned to the young man in front of her. The first thing that would catch her eye were his narrow, ice cold, blue eyes. His shoulder length black hair only made his eyes more vibrant and wicked.

She hated them. And she hated him.

Noemi stood. It didn't make her more confident. She barely reached his waist. Still, she forced her eyes on his. "Sorry, Android. The kid you're lookin' for doesn't wanna see ya."

The Android -- 17 -- frowned at her. He scoffed, "Enough jokes. The kid never misses a chance to see me. Besides, it's my days to have him."

Despite her heart racing in fear, Noemi crossed her arms and shrugged. "Sorry. I'm not gonna force him to be with ya. Bye now," she replied nonchalantly. She moved inside the garage and began to pull the door down, but it quickly didn't budge.

Noemi tried to control her shaking as she slowly moved her eyes up. They widened a bit as she stared into 17's dark, ruthless eyes. He would not take no for an answer.

17 held the door from closing, and he easily pushed it up to open completely. He stalked over her, slightly leaning down to intimidate her.

He asked slowly, "Where. Is. Nick?"

Noemi clenched her fists. She wanted to run away, but she couldn't. She had to get him out of there, to keep the women safe.

"He's-He's outside playing," Noemi told him on a whim.

17 straightened up and side stepped to move out of her way. "Take me to him," he commanded.

Noemi tried to control her shaky breaths. She nodded and led him away from Capsule Corp.

She led him to a park that 17 had reconstructed. It had a nice patch of greenery, a bench, a slide, a swing, and a tall play area with steps and tunnels. It infuriated her that this was all for one kid, the kid from a monster.

Noemi stopped and crossed her arms. She focused on her breathing to keep herself from shaking.

17 stepped closer. His eyes narrowed when he didn't see a child. "Nick! Nicky! Now is not the time to play hide-and-seek," he called out. "We can go play whatever you want, and eat whatever you want."

When he got no answer, he frowned.

In a flash, Noemi grunted as she fell to ground on her side, coughing as she held her stomach.

"Where is he?" 17 demanded, his voice cold as ice as he lifted her up by her ponytail.

Noemi cried out at the fiery pain at the roots of her hair. She scratched at his hands, trying to break free. "Let me go!"

17 only replied with another blow to her stomach. "Answer my question, and I will."

Noemi retched and glared at the cruel Android. "I don't know," she told him. "I don't know where he is, so leave!"

17 brought her close to his face, his eyes boring into hers. He searched and searched in her onyx eyes. He sensed it. She wasn't saying the entire truth. She was keeping something from him.

He glared, "No. You know." Then, he eyed Capsule Corp. "Or, should I ask those women in there?"

Noemi's eyes widened. "No! Stay away from them!"

"Then, where is Nick?!" 17 demanded once more.

Noemi was crying from the stress, from the pain of his grip. "I... I don't know!"

17 grew livid and threw her at the ground. He wrapped a hand around her neck and punched her hard, making her tears mix with the blood escaping her lips.

Noemi couldn't keep a brave face on. She was so terrified, and the pain was so terrible. Why did he have to hurt her? Why only her?!

17 pulled her head up only to smash it into the ground again. He ignored her cries, her pleads. He only wanted one thing at the moment, and all she could do was displease him further.

"One week, half-breed," 17 warned her. "You have one week to find him, or else I'm going to slaughter every human I see."

Noemi's eyes widened despite her blurry vision from her tears.

At last, 17 let her go and stood. He gave the small park one last look before he took off flying.

On the ground, Noemi's crying turned into sobs. The fate of the world rested on her finding the boy. She curled up into a ball, bawling. She would not be able to find him. She only hoped that he would return within a week.
