After the party incident, I arrived in homeroom very early and talked to Mrs. Lightheart about everything going on. I loved having her as a freshman, and still love having her for homeroom. I now sit in the front, close to her desk and Aaron has moved to the back of the classroom, still far from the other students. They always try to talk to him, but he usually has on his headphones and does homework.
Football season is almost over, finally. I can't wait to be done with the stupid cheerleading uniform and I can leave all the bossy, dramatic girls behind. Except for Jamie and Shania. Jamie is actually a really nice friend. After the party she kept Sam and other boys away from me after games, scaring them off with her intense stare, a stare I would never want directed at me. I haven't talked to Aaron sense the party. Every time he tries to talk to me, I dodge him in some way. But today I am going to talk to, or I will attempt to.
This morning Mrs. Lightheart said that I need to talk to him eventually, because it's not fair that I never explained myself. So, I build up the courage and sit in the back, and look over at her when Aaron walks in. He sits down and pulls out the AP Bio textbook.
"Hey." I say. Wow, way to get his attention. He turns and looks at me, then smiles. The smile that I lowkey miss seeing.
"Good morning Kira." He says.
"Um, I'm sorry for yelling at you at the party... that was kind of unfair of me." I say, then glance over at Mrs. Lightheart. She smiles.
"It's ok, you were... drunk." He whispers the last word. "So, you weren't thinking straight and one's emotions become very strong while you're... you know."
"Yeah, I remember." I say and laugh a little. "I didn't mean what I said though."
"Well, I'm sorry for calling you short stuff only in your cheer uniform. I thought it was cute, I guess. But I won't use it anymore." He says.
"Well, it was kinda cute." I say, blushing a little. Pull it together Kira!!
"Also, I wanted you to know that Lauren and I are not a thing, I told her to stop after the party." He says, blushing a little. Why is he blushing?
"Well, that's unfortunate for her. But I can see why, Aaron bear." I tease. That's what Lauren used to call him.
"Ugh, give me a break." He says and smiles.
"Sorry, it's going to stick for a while." I say and smile.
"So, were friends again?" He asks, a little excitement in his eyes.
"Yeah, were friends again." I say and smile. Friends again with Aaron VanDorren, the dream boy of the school.

After that stupid party Kira's been ignoring me. We both said things that I know we regret, at least I hope she regrets. I've tried talking to her, but she always ignores me. She has been talking to Mrs. Lightheart a lot more recently.
Today I sit in my usual seat in the back and pull out My AP Bio text book. I look over and Kira is sitting next to me.
"Hey." She says, shyly. Just like the first day we met. I smile thinking of that memory.
"Good morning Kira." I say.

"Also, I wanted you to know that Lauren and I are not a thing, I told her to stop after the party." I say, blushing a little too. I never like Lauren, she's too clingy and I don't know, wasn't my type? But... why am I blushing now, talking to Kira?
"Well, that's unfortunate for her. But I can see why, Aaron bear." She teases.
"Ugh, give me a break." I say. I hated that nickname, with a passion.
"Sorry, it's going to stick for a while." She says, confidently and smiles. Her smile is cute too... I missed seeing it.
"So, were friends again?" I ask.
"Yeah, were friends again." She says and smiles.
Friends...
