I pull up to Lake Anna with Ethan, Zane, and Aiden in my car. As soon as we step out of the car Aiden takes off his shirt.
"Wow, suns out guns out is truly your moto, huh?" Zane says and chuckles.
"Well, it is hot out here." Aiden say, smirking.
"It's because I'm out here." Ethan says.
"You guys are idiots." I say and chuckle.
"Hey, you are jumping into that lake with us, remember?" Aiden says, pointing at me and smirking.
"Hell yeah I am!" I say, smiling. We walk over with our towels to the bonfires that were set up and see the girls sitting by one. Shaina and Jammie already have their shirts off too and Shaina has her arm around Kira.
"You can just stay on the paddle board, ok?" Shaina says as we walk closer.
"Now that is a good idea." Kira says, smiling.
"How's it going ladies?" Ethan asks, walking next to Jamie.
"If it will get her out on the water, then fine." Jamie says to Shaina while taking Ethan's hand. Kira looks over at me and smiles. We haven't gone on an official date yet, but we figured the diner could count for now.
"She's like a cat sometimes." Shania says and giggles. Kira rolls her eyes and smiles.
"I just don't like getting wet." She says.
"Cat." Shaina says, grinning.
"Well, if she's just on a paddle board then she will be fine. We all have to get one to get to the middle of the lake." I say.
"See, I won't be the only one." Kira says and smiles.
"I didn't say that. Let's get our paddle boards." Shaina says and takes Kira's hand.
"Yeiks, the boyfriend and the best friend don't agree." Aiden says and shakes his head.
"We did not disagree; we just had a little different viewpoint." I say.
"So you two are official?" Ella asks. I nod, blushing slightly.
"Finally!!" Jamie practically sings. "The day has come when small Kira breaks out of her shell and... well I guess she's already talked to you all year so I would say she broke out her shell but..."
"Let's get our boards so we can go!" Zane says, running towards the shore.
"Aw yeah!" I say and take off my shirt and run after him. Zane, Ethan, Jamie, Ella and I quickly grab paddle boards and get into the lake. We paddle to the middle of the lake and stop.
"How far behind are Kira, Shaina and Aiden?" Ella asks, looking behind us when we stop. We look back and I see them paddling not too far from the lake shore.
"Looks like they will only be a couple of minutes." Ethan says. Jamie sits up on her paddle board and hangs her legs off into the water. I look back at the shore and see others grabbing boards and swimming out to the center. I look for Mark, he said he was coming to the party. This is the biggest and probably safest party that Lakewood and Westmoore both go to. Kira stops paddling and turns around to talk to someone back on shore.
"Who are they talking to?" Jamie asks.
"I can't see that far." I say, trying to make out who's on shore.
"So, who wants to jump in first?" Ethan asks.
"Is that even a question?" Zane asks. He dives off his board into the lake. I jump into the cold water and quickly come back to the surface.
