Unexpected

Part 4

Snuper are hanging out after their first release event of the day, and of the new year, when a camera crew comes in. They sit up in attention. One of the cameramen holds out a red envelope. They smile, knowing what it is and anticipating the results. Earlier they had been interviewed and were told that one of them was going to be on We Got Married, because of the viral tweets and their recent surge in global popularity. Taewoong steps up to take the envelope, bowing as he does so. "Thank you."

He returns to his seat and opens it up, reading the mission aloud as the other members crowd around him. "One of you has been chosen as a virtual husband. Using the list of traits the wife wants in a husband, and her personality type, pick the correct partner." He looks at the second piece of paper.

"It's me," says Woosung. "Don't waste your time, guys."

"It could be anybody!" exclaims Sebin. "Don't jump to conclusions and don't be greedy."

"Let's keep a tally on the white board," suggests Sangho. He writes everyone's name at the top, then divides the board horizontally. "The points on top will be positive, and below the line will be negative."

"Number one," reads Taewoong, "Kind."

"Taewoong gets a point!" say all the members at once.

"And Sangho."

"Anyone else?"

"It's not like the rest of us are unkind," says Sebin, "we're just not as kind. You guys are above on the kindness level."

"Does anyone get negative points?" asks Suhyun impishly.

"Maybe you should," retorts Woosung.

"Number two," butts in Taewoong before a verbal fight can break out. "Truthful, but in a gentle way."

"Taewoong again," says Sangil.

"And you, hyung," Sangho tells Sangil. "Just work harder on the gentle part."

"And me," Sebin nominates himself.

"No," Woosung retorts. "You'd lie instead of the possibility of hurting someone's feelings. So you get a negative point. And so do I and Suhyun," he adds truthfully.

"Number three," continues Taewoong, "dislikes aegyo."

There is stunned silence before Sangil exclaims, "Point for me! And negative points for Sangho, Sebin, and ... all of you."

"I don't like aegyo!" Suhyun protests.

"You don't like doing it, but you like receiving it," Sangil explains.

"You're just trying to get more points. Personally, I think you're the king of aegyo," continues Suhyun.

"Hey now," says Sangho, offended that his title is close to being snatched away.

After some back and forth, the members come to an agreement before moving on. Finishing up the husband qualities, they move on to what type of personality the wife has.

"Quiet and shy."

"Sangho would make an ideal pair. The viewers would wonder if they accidentally muted their TV," jokes Woosung and all of Snuper (save Sangho) laugh for far too long.

"That's kind of odd," muses Sangil. "She both wants a quiet husband and is quiet herself."

"Hyung! You're shy, too," Taewoong tells him.

"Quiet doesn't mean not talking, just not loud and noisy. So Woosung and Suhyun get negative points," explains Sangho, adding tally marks to their names.

"Has a quirky sense of humor."

"Sangil? Since his personality is weird, so is his sense of humor. They'll match."

"I'm not weird!" Sangil all but shouts. "Ever since that one interview, Swings have the wrong idea of me, and all because of you guys. Saying my personality is not normal, and that I look myself up on Naver, and play the keyboard in the van."

"But you do that, so where's the lie?"

Sangil huffs and turns his head away.

"Loves to be physically active."

"So we'll do sporty things together and go to the gym," surmises Sebin.

"Sangil loves to go to the gym and work out," murmurs Suhyun. "He has the best body among Snuper."

"I think Woosung does," retorts Sangil.

"But I don't love it," Woosung comments in a saccharine voice, just to get on his nerves a bit.

"Come on, let's finish this up," Taewoong tells them, "just a few more to go." He reads the remaining traits until he comes to the last one. "These are her physical traits. Not cute, but pretty. One hundred seventy centimeters tall, weighs sixty four kilograms."

"Outward appearances aren't important," says Sangil. "But she might be too tall for—"

Suhyun puts his hand over Sangil's mouth and interrupts, "Is not cute a euphemism for something? Because only Sangil likes the opposite of cute."

Sangho looks at the board. "According to the data, Suhyun and Woosung have the most negative points. The rest of us are tied. And Sangil has a positive two point lead over Taewoong and me. Who do you guys think it is?"

Taewoong quickly rereads the paper. "I go with Sangil."

Following an ardent but short debate, the other members choose Sangil as well.

"Correct," says a director. "After your second release event, you'll be taken to the studio for an interview. We'll leave for now."

When the room is clear, the members congratulate Sangil. "Do us proud," they cheer him. "Fighting!"
