I watch the show with my family at home. It's very interesting to see the editing and what they show versus what gets cut. And sometimes irksome. There are plenty of times when I come across different than what I was thinking and feeling. And the random comments that are written on the screen — why do they think they know what was going on in my head?
They put some clips of me from Formula 2. Racing, celebrating on the podium, interviews. I see they only put good stuff, not crashes. And Snuper's song performances. Screenshots of my tweets. They make me out to be a fan, which I wasn't. Not that I will ever mention that to anyone who I'm not close with.
"I never heard you mention Snuper before," comments my younger sister, Airi.
"True, I hadn't." It was great to see the scene where Snuper had to figure out who had been chosen for the husband role, since it was something I didn't know had taken place. I was glad that not only I had gone through detective work on that day.
"Do you think that Sangil is weird?" asks Airi.
"No."
"Does he have the best body?" This time my brother Kira has a question.
"I didn't see his body. And who are we comparing him to? His members? My racing buddies?"
"Let me know when you find out." He grins in my direction. In a few moments he continues. "Is not cute a euphemism? For what?"
"NO. I just wanted them to know that people don't describe me as cute. But they would say that I am pretty."
Later, when Snuper is giving me advice, Kira cracks up at "He likes sexy ladies."
"So it was a euphemism!"
"Shut up. Would you say I'm sexy?"
"Not really. I think you can be if you tried, but usually I would call you a strange mix of tomboy and girly."
"Yeah," chimes in Taiga. "You're a tomboy in your race suit, but girly out of it. You wear skirts often and have pretty hairdos."
I pay extra attention to Sangil's solo interview. Since they misrepresented me several times, I can't rely on how he was portrayed, either. But maybe I can pick up some clues.
"When she came into the room, did you think that she was your wife?" they ask.
"No. We had an interaction on Twitter. I thought it was about that."
"How did you feel when she proposed?"
"I was confused as to what was going on at first. But the surprise was not unpleasant."
"How do you feel about the fact that your member Sangho was the one who she paid attention to in the beginning?"
"It's very understandable, isn't it? He specifically said he would have been a Formula One engineer. Since she's a Formula One driver, that caught her attention. I don't think it was Sangho, but the profession, which piqued her interest."
I am glad that he was not saying statements that sound as if he's in love with me already. I don't find out much from his interview. But I notice that he only has one dimple, on his right cheek. Earlier, in person, I had assumed he had two. I've always been a person to whom someone is more handsome when they're not perfect. Like my scars or Ryusei Ryo's ears. Sangil has become more appealing.
