Lisbon's POV

She slowly turned around in Jane's arms and rested her head on the pillow next to his. He was still asleep, and his arm fell on her waist. She watched him sleep and traced his features lightly with her finger. She'd missed him so much all these months, her heart had ached constantly. She felt hopeful that this time, they could overcome their insecurities.

She leaned in and kissed him. He protested in his sleep – that was Jane – never wanting to wake up. She snuggled closer and kissed him again. This time his eyes fluttered open and he pulled her closer.

"Humm... that's a nice way to wake up. Better than kicking the couch like you used to do," he said.

"Yeah, well. That would have been weird right... me kissing you to wake you up when we were at the CBI," she said giggling just at the thought of her team's faces back then had she done that.

"I would have enjoyed working with you much more had you done that," he said and flinched when she pinched him hard on the arm.

He was staring at her and she wished they could stay like that forever... she just wanted to get lost in eyes.

He broke the spell... "So... tell me... is it going to be a girl Kimble or a boy Kimble."

"Both," she said.

He chuckled. "C'mon. Enough games, Lisbon."

"Both," she said again.

She watched as understanding brightened his eyes.

"Twins – are you kidding me," he said in shock and sat up briskly in the bed. "Twins."

He kept repeating it over and over again. To be fair, she'd had the same reaction when she'd found out. After a few minutes he snuggled back down in the blankets beside her and with a goofy smile that seemed permanently pasted there. He kissed hard and was shaking his head.

"I was thinking our baby was an acrobat last night when I was feeling it move because it seemed to be coming from all angles. But there's two in there."

He pushed the blanket down and looked at her belly again and rubbed it. "Two babies," he said gently. "We are never going to sleep again."
