Lisbon's POV

"Stay right there, I'll be back," he said.

Teresa watched him head towards their bedroom. Not sure where he thought she was going to run off too. He looked tired. The childbirth had taken a toll on him. He'd been steady as a rock the entire time and so supportive. He never left her side for more than the time it took to go to the washroom and come back. When the anesthesiologist was delayed for the epidural, Jane had used a hypnosis trick to help her manage the pain and it had worked to dull some of the pain. She never got her epidural because the doctor was pulled into an emergency surgery and she ended up having to deliver both babies without any pain meds which had not been part of the plan and had upset Jane.

He was so adorable with the babies. She couldn't have picked a better father for her children or a better partner. She just couldn't believe this was her life now... with Jane. When she looked back at their first meeting at the CBI and all the time she spent with him, she never would have imagined this – the old version of herself would have kicked her, she was sure, for even considering it.

She looked at her babies and remembered when the nurse had put them one by one on her chest, first Sophie, then Noah. She couldn't believe how much they looked like Jane.

She was blissfully happy right now. She had the man she loved by her side, a career she loved, and now two beautifully perfect babies.

Jane came back into the room looking nervous. He was smiling and looked like a man on a mission, but without a plan, which was not like him.

"What's going on?" she asked. "You're acting weird."

"I'm not acting weird, uhm, is he done feeding?" he asked.

She nodded. Noah was asleep again with milk dripping from his mouth. Jane gently took him and put him back in the swing. She put her shirt back into place and waited for him to tell her why he was acting strange all of a sudden.

He started pacing the carpet in front of her and smiling at her. Then he stopped and got down on both his knees in front of her.

"There's a million things that I could, even should say right now, but there's only one question that matters and one answer... will you be my wife Teresa Lisbon and make me the happiest man," he asked and showed her the ring.

"Yes! I mean, I wish you'd waited until I had time to put on clean clothes and took a shower, but yes! I'll be your wife," she answered tearfully.

Jane slipped the ring on her finger and it looked amazing.

"I can't wait to make you Teresa Jane... has a nice ring don't you think?" he said proudly.

"I was thinking, Teresa Lisbon-Jane actually," she said.

"I like it," he responded with a gentle kiss.

He laid down on the sofa and pulled Teresa into a spooning position with him. They both watched the babies in their swings sleeping and slowly feel asleep themselves feeling content.
