hey guys, i know this isn't an one shot or anything like that, but i felt like posting this to bring awareness to what's going on. the reason i haven't really been posting for a while was because i wasn't sure if that's what i should be doing. as many of you know, there has been a lot of protests happening around the world to make people aware that black lives aren't being treated fairly and that things need to change. i feel like most people simply take part of the black lives matter movement because everyone else is doing it without knowing about it, so i just wanted to make a post regarding the situation and my personal thoughts about it.
the whole reason why this started was because of a man named George Floyd. he was accused of forging a $20 bill and was killed because the police valued $20 over someone's life. a police officer kneeled down on Floyd when he fell down to the hot pavement and stayed like that for almost 9 minutes as Floyd kept repeating "I can't breathe". he sadly passed away while the other police officers simply stood there and watched. it hurts me to think that america is referred to as "the land of the free" but is actually filled with racism and hate. when the country was made, certain unalienable rights were given to us; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. from what i see, that is not true for everyone, and that is why america needs to change. it isn't fair that black people are being treated differently just because of their skin color. George Floyd isn't the first case of a black person being murdered for no reason. there has been many instances like this in the past that we have been ignoring. and yes, it is our fault for not taking a stand earlier before any of this happened, but now, we need to fight until things are set right. we can't let things like this keep happening.
also, regarding the acab thing, i do believe that our government is very corrupted and that police are probably forced to act like that in order to keep their jobs. there are cops out there that are nice, but the fact that they know how corrupt our country is and continue to work for it bothers me. please do not immediately suspect that all cops are bad, they are human too and deserve to be treated with respect. in addition, to everyone that supports blue lives matter, yes, the lives of police officers are important too. everyone's lives are important, but what you're not seeing here is that right now, black lives need help. they are being killed by the police for no reason, and that is unfair for them. please don't say "all lives matter" or "blue lives matter". it is true that all lives matter, but it is very disrespectful to say that while black people are losing their lives because of their skin color. we're not saying that ONLY black lives matter; we are saying that right now, we need to stand up for their rights because they're not being treated fairly.
so if you can, please sign petitions to help the black lives matter movement. if you decided to protest, please stay safe and do not raid buildings. do whatever you can to make more people aware. if my opinions made you uncomfortable, feel free to unfollow me, but i hope everyone that's reading is supports the black lives matter movement. if you have any questions about this whole situation or about my stance and opinions, feel free to contact me. i'll try my best to answer any questions you guys may have. thank you for taking your time to read this, and sorry if this is a bit messy; i'm writing this at 5 am >< have a nice day 🖤
