You sat in your seat, drumming your pencil against your desk in a steady beat. That was a habit of yours, and although some people hated you for doing that in the middle of every single test, you couldn't help it. A soft sigh escaped your lips as you stared down at the worksheet in front of you, your face contorting into a confused expression. Leaning back in your seat, you tried to make sense of the math sheet, but it all seemed like foreign language to you. You lightly groaned and let your head fall to the desk with a small thump.

A low chuckle startled you from your misery, and you glanced over at the class president, who happened to be sitting right next to you. You gave him a small frown. Of course he didn't stand your struggles; he'd been making straight A's since elementary school and taught himself English by watching TV shows. Not to mention that he was musically talented as well. He seemed to have noticed your sour expression, and he scooted closer to you. You could smell a faint scent of coffee from his direction- he even smelled good too.

"What's bothering you?" He asked in a soft tone, peeking at your worksheet. His eyes widened when he realized that you haven't done anything except drum your pencil against your desk. Your worksheet was completely blank; you didn't even bother to write your name on it. "Well... why don't you start with your name and date?"

At hearing his words, you immediately started to scribble down the basic information on the paper. He scanned your messy handwriting and smiled. "Ah, your name's Y/N. Nice to meet you. I'm-"

"Kim Namjoon. Class president. Top of every class. Top candidate for valedictorian. Yes, I know who you are." You cut him off, glancing over at him and giving him a forced smile. He seemed flustered that you knew so much about him, and he cleared his throat.

"Umm, anyways, I saw you struggling and thought I might help."

You raised an eyebrow at him and slowly started to drum your pencil against the wooden desk. "Well, if the teacher can't teach me, I can't see how you can."

"What do you not understand?"

"All of this." You pointed to the worksheet, which caused him to think carefully about what he should do.

"Okay... well, let's start with the basics..."

As time passed, you found yourself actually starting to understand the material, and your eyes widened. Namjoon's smooth voice explained the content so well that you were able to catch up quickly. With his guidance, the blank sheet was soon filled with numbers. A dimple formed on the male's cheek when he saw that you were making progress.

The bell rung, signaling the end of school. Namjoon started to stand up, but you grabbed his wrist, looking into his eyes with a panicked look.

"W-wait! Don't leave yet." You held on tightly to him, preventing him from leaving. "D-do you..." you paused, gulping your pride down your throat. "Do you think you can tutor me?"

The male simply smiled warmly at your question and patted your head. "Of course. How about we start tomorrow-"

"No!" You cut him off, a desperate look on your face. "U-um, can we start today? I really need to study for that test on Friday, and I need all the help I can get..." you trailed off, your gaze falling to the floor and your cheeks heating up.

Namjoon seemed troubled, but he ended up agreeing. "If you're okay with it, I have an after school club I have to go to today. You can follow me there- it's only an hour long- and then we can go to the library and study."

You nodded excitedly, and he chuckled. You started to gather up your books and pencil pouch as Namjoon carefully started to pack up as well. Everyone else seemed to be gone from the classroom; it was just you and Namjoon.
