SeokjinMy therapist and I had been working very hard this past year for me to come to this point in my life. Some would say, it's a culmination of all our efforts. For me, it's been a journey of many emotions, trials and pain, lots of pain.
But today, as I stand here, in a chokehold with my assaulter, I'm no longer a victim of my past. Today, I'm only thinking of myself, not even my unborn child in my womb. If I have to survive, it will be for myself.
I had procured a gun with the help of my friend. I knew the consequences of doing that. There was always a high probability that I wouldn't actually shoot Suga. I was however, trying to scare him, but it didn't work. He was too much of a hardass. I should have known. And although he had the weapon pointed at my tummy, I still wasn't afraid.
Something had snapped within me and I stopped struggling. Because of this, it gave me enough time for Suga to be distracted and he loosened his hold on me. I took advantage of that and lifted my leg up high, bringing it down hard onto his foot. I had worn heavy utility boots purposefully. He didn't stand a chance when my foot crushed his.
He screamed out in pain, letting go of my neck. I stepped away from him, and pulled his arm over my front, his whole body following with the force and momentum of that pull. He fell forward, landing on his back, the gun flew from his hold, landing somewhere.
He was stunned and I kicked him in his gut repeatedly, not giving him a chance to react. I don't remember how Jungkook was holding me back and Taehyung along with some men that I had never seen before in my life, had surrounded Suga, rifles aimed at him on the ground.
"Min Yoongi, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you do, or say, can and will be used against you in a court of law."
The arresting officer continued with his reading of Suga's rights while Jungkook held me tightly.
"Baby.....oh my Jinnie. I was so afraid. I was so afraid."
"I-I'm okay hyungie. I'm okay. Look."
He was cupping my face, so I moved one hand to my tummy and he smiled warmly.
"Our little sweetpea is safe." I looked deeply into his eyes.
"Yes....yes she's safe."
"She?" I cocked an eyebrow at him. He laughed stupidly.
"Yeah....I'm hoping for a little girl, one that will look exactly like my Jinnie."
He kissed me softly as the police walked a handcuffed Suga to their vehicle.
"You have nothing on me!" He screamed defiantly.
"Oh yeah? Well let's see, how's murder, conspiracy to commit murder, extortion, sale of illegal weapons and other gang related activity, sound to you? I'm sorry to say Mr Min, but we apprehended your men tonight as they were staking out this little rendezvous of yours and let me tell you, they sang like little canaries. We have been looking for you in a series of unsolved crimes in the last two decades. I think it's safe to say, you'll be going away for a very long time," the officer concluded and shoved Suga into the van.
"Hyungie, what is all this?"
"I'll explain everything baby. Let's get you back inside the shop."
I nodded and we made our way inside. Soobin made us some tea and coffee, while we sat in one of the booths to the side. Luckily, our patrons were unaware of the ruckus outside a few moments ago.
