Being the only son of the emperor is not amazing. It's not relaxing.

It's absolutely tiring.

Father is a kind man, but his servants...his people...

Aren't.

For 18 years, I worked hard to be the proper heir.

But never once had a break day, or anything that just relaxed me.

Empress Dowager is my real mother, but greed blinded her, and she ignores my very existence.

When I was blessed with my Dragon spirit, I named him Ryuu Von Winthrop. Because, I want him to live like a normal person, something I can't have.

Ryuu was my only friend at first, then I met Kai. Who was blunt and cold. He didn't click with Ryuu's playful attitude, but in the end...we grew fond of eachother.

Birthday parties are tiring. It's a waste of money and time.

The carriage stops

"Your highness, we have arrived." The Coachman says.

I go down, and Ryuu followed behind me.

I enter the palace and see Kai.

He hasn't attended my birthday for years. He sent letters and gifts. I heard it was because of his sister? He didn't give any details nor talk about her.

I couldn't help but give a small smile

"It's been awhile Your highness." He said.

I smirked "It has."

"Let's just finish this already! I'm hungry!" Ryuu added.

I chuckle, and we enter the main ball room.

"The crown prince has arrived!" The master of ceremonies announces.

Everyone stares.

As usual, same people.

I enter the room and the music plays.

I sat down on the chair placed in the center, and people greet me, and give their gifts.

It's getting tiring...

I glance at the dancefloor and saw an unfamiliar girl, who was wearing a peach colored dress, but what caught my eye was her smile.

Who is she dancing with?

Keith Ortiz...is that his wife?

No, Kai doesn't even have a fiancee, and yet he's the heir.

I glance at Kai who seemed like he was also watching that girl.

"Kai, who is that girl?" I ask.

Kai looks at me and says "my sister."

How blunt, I expected more information.

"What's her name?" I ask

"Why are you asking?" Kai replied bluntly.

Huh? He's never been like this before...

"Are you really not going to tell me?" I ask again.

"It's Abela." He said looking away.

What's with this guy?

Abela. it means breathing...

The music stopped and some nobles leave including Keith and Abela.

It's been half an hour, and I can't seem to keep my eyes off her.

Abela stops talking to the nobles and goes to the side balcony.
