"oppa," repeated the voice with a slight annoyance in her delivery, "if you don't wake up i'll eat your pancakes."
jeongguk opened his eyes, "don't you dare," he said and he sat up. the girl smiled, the sleepyhead had finally risen. she walked over to her older brother, "you forgot, didn't you?"
"forgot what?"
"that there is something big to be revealed today," she said sitting on his bed, "aren't you curious to know?"
"not in the slightest," jeongguk replied, "now move, i got to get up. before a monster comes."
"monster?" the little girl questioned with curiosity and fear in her voice.
"mother."
the little girl quickly got off, "hurry down!" she said and left the room.
once jeongguk got up he got dressed for the day after showering. heading downstairs he heard his mother and father, or the queen and king discussing something.
"do you think he'll rebel against the idea?"
"he may, but he will get around it. he'll accept it with time."
"are you sure?"
"i fairly hope so."
jeongguk entered the room, "morning," he said and a servant pulled a seat for the prince.
both his parents said good morning to their son before looking at each other nervously, "son," spoke up the queen as jeongguk cut into the pancakes, "father has something to inform you of."
the king looked at his wife in shock, she set him up. the queen smiled with a helpless shrug.
jeongguk put his fork down, and looked at his father, "yes?"
the king cleared his throat, a habit he has when nervous then began to speak, "you are finally at a mature age, which means marriage is to follow. when you were born there was an agreement that you were to be married to the prince of busan."
jeongguk's eyes widened, "you mean prince jimin?"
the queen nodded. jeongguk froze, his mind went blank, he quickly stood up, "excuse me," he said and left the dinning room.
the king was amazed at the response and looked at his wife, "no..."
"...rejection?" the queen finished, both parents looked at each other surprised.

jeongguk closed the room to his door then slid down to sit on the ground.
i am to marry prince jimin?! he's one of my favorites. sure we haven't talked or haven't seen one another for a couple of years, but, but—
"brother?" came a voice behind the door, "are you okay?"
jeongguk quickly got up and opened the door for his little sister, hani.
"i'm fine hani, what you do need?"
the girl smiled, "i just wanted to check on you," she said, "you promised me after breakfast that you'd read to me."
"i did promise you, huh?" jeongguk replied, "okay then," he said, "bring the book you want me to read and i'll read to you in my room."
the girl smiled in excitement and rushed to her own room. the maids had made his bed while he was at breakfast, so he sat on clean sheets.
hani came in running into his room, "i brought it," she said a bit out of breath, handing the book to jeongguk she sat on the bed beside him.
"cinderella," he read the title then began the rag to riches story.

jeongguk was doing some paper work for his father when there was a knock on his door.
"come in," he said and entered a servant with a letter.
"for you, your highness," he servant said, jeongguk took the letter and thanked him.
jeongguk saw it arrived from busan and opened the letter.
prince jeongguk,
i am prince jimin, i am here to invite you to a ball that will be taken place at busan to reveal the big news. i hope you and your family will join us to share the news to join two kingdoms and families.

jeongguk quickly stood up and asked a servant where his parents currently were then rushed over.
jeongguk arrived in the garden to see his parents walking together as they were talking.
"father, mother," he said once he was close enough, "there is a ball busan to reveal the news that the prince and i are to be engaged then married."
the queen smiled, "we are well aware," she replied as the king nodded in approval, "why don't you write back and inform the prince that we are excited and grateful for the invitation?"
jeongguk nodded then turned around and left excited to write to prince jimin.
the king looked at his wife, "he seems to be taking this all well," he said as the queen took her husband's arm, "agreed," she said, "maybe he is content with the marriage?"

jeongguk went to his office and sat at his desk, he pulled a piece of paper and quill then began to write.
dear prince jimin,
i am here to inform you that my family and i are grateful for your invitation and will be excited to meet you at the ball.
