jeongguk and jimin washed up and returned to the bedroom.
"jimin," jeongguk said to him, "i'm sorry for earlier."
jimin looked at jeongguk a bit confused, "what do you mean?"
"i mean in the garden," jeongguk explained, "i picked you up without asking you. i'm sorry for that."
jimin rubbed his hair with the towel, "don't worry," he said, "it was for the game. i don't mind, it acutally was fun."
jeongguk looked at jimin, "r-really?"
jimin nodded, which made jeongguk smile, "that's good to hear," he said, "that you had fun here."
there was a knock on the door, "dinner is ready your highnesses," said a voice.
"we'll be right down," said jeongguk. jimin placed the towel on the bed and followed jeongguk to the dining room
there, hani was telling the king about the garden. how she had saved prince jimin from prince jeongguk.
"hani you seemed to have had a lot of fun," said the king with a smile, "too bad the prince isn't staying longer, huh?"
hani quickly looked at prince jimin, "you are leaving? have i haven't saved you from lava yet," she said disappointed.
jimin smiled, "don't worry there i'll visit more often," he said which made hani happy.
jeongguk glanced at jimin he's going to visit more or is he just saying that to cheer her up?
"that's right," the queen said, "jimin is leaving tomorrow morning."
—
jimin climbed in bed as jeongguk went to his desk. "are you going to sleep at the window again?" jimin asked seeing the pillow and spare blanket there.
"yeah."
"you don't have to—"
"don't be selfless, jimin," jeongguk said to him, "i don't want to invade your space. i like sleeping there anyways, i can see the stars from the window."
jimin nodded and laid down, soon falling asleep.
—
the next day arrived and everyone was wishing jimin a safe trip and saying their goodbyes.
before jimin entered the carriage, jeongguk stopped him, "for you," he said and handed jimin a book, "keep it."
jimin took the book, romeo and juilet, "thank you," said jimin as he looked back at jeongguk. jeongguk smiled and nodded.
—
"jimin," said the queen, "how was your trip?"
jimin came out of the carriage and walked to his mother, hugging her before walking beside her to answer countless of questions, "it was fine. i know where everything is, i met everyone and had a nice time."
the queen glanced at her son, "what do you think of prince jeongguk now? anything changed?" she asked hoping for a more favorable answer.
"he seems nice and caring," jimin answered, trying to not remember the bookshelves or garden.
the queen frowned a bit, not getting the answer she wanted, "well, at least you didn't hate the trip," she said, "i'll let you rest now, you must be tired."
jimin nodded and went to his room to see a letter on his desk. making his way over, he picked it up and saw it was from daegu.
jimin opened the letter quickly to read,
i heard you visited jeongguk's castle. how was it?
i decided to write to you since i thought of you. i am currently on a trip with my father for business. when i get back we should meet up.
truly yours,
taehyung of daegujimin smiled at the letter, he thought of me. he thought to himself. he folded the letter and placed it in a small box of other letters taehyung had sent him.
—
jeongguk was in the library where he had picked the book for jimin when his mother came in.
"jeongguk?" she said, "why are you staring at the books?"
jeongguk turned to his mother, "is something the matter?" he asked.
"you are to visit the parks soon," queen jeon said, "i just wanted to let you know."
jeongguk nodded, "uh, mother?" he asked, "i was reading this book and i want your opinion on it."
"what is it?"
"there are there two people, let's call them, apple and pear. the apple and pear are to marry but the apple has another lover and the pear likes the pear. should the pear go after the apple or let the apple be happy with the other."
the queen thought carefully, "i think one shouldn't be selfish, but selfless. if the pear took the apple away from happiness, the apple would be sad. if the pear likes the apple, the pear should make the apple like it. the pear shouldn't break the apple from their lover."
jeongguk nodded, "i see," he said.
"what book are you reading?" she asked.
"just a book i found randomly," jeongguk replied as the gears in his head turned.
