"have you seen prince jimin?" asked queen jeon to a servant, "the last time i saw him was at jeongguk's room," the servant answered. the queen thanked him and with queen park then headed to jeongguk's room. it was dinner time and neither of them were there.
queen jeon opened the door of her son's room and peaked inside to see jeongguk and jimin asleep. jimin was fast asleep beside jeongguk. the queens smiled then closed the door, "i don't think we have to worry about them," said queen park, "i think the party will settle things between them."
queen jeon agreed and they left the two.
once they were walking away from the prince's room, jeongguk woke up. he moved a bit then realized there was someone was next to him, thinking it was hani, he said, "hani, i need to get up. hani."
jeongguk looked over and saw it was jimin. jeongguk's eyes widened, what was he doing here?
jeongguk placed a blanket on jimin then got out of bed to use the restroom. jimin soon began to wake up, he rubbed his eyes and sat up. he looked over to see jeongguk missing, looking around the room that was now dark he didn't see him. then he heard a door opened and saw jeongguk coming out of the restroom.
"jeongguk?" jimin said, "how are you feeling?"
jeongguk walked over to the bed, "i'm feeling fine," he said, " what are you doing back? i thought you weren't going to stay the night."
"i guess mother changed her mind since she didn't wake me up," jimin replied, "are you angry?"
jeongguk shook his head and placed the candle he was holding the bed table near jimin, "are you hungry?"
jimin nodded, "lets go find something to eat," jeongguk said picking up the candle, then jimin grabbed his arm, "i can get it for us," he said, "you are sick and shouldn't be walking until you feel better."
jeongguk shook his head, "don't worry i feel better," he said, "come on."
jimin nodded and let go of jeongguk's hand as they left the room. jeongguk lead the way through the dark hallway, a deju vu feeling for the both of them.
"good thing you don't have too many paintings," jimin said as he looked at the walls, "more windows than walls," he added.
something was different with jimin, jeongguk thought to himself, he doesn't normally talk this much. i am the one who does more of the talking.
"jeongguk, are you listening?" jimin asked.
"hm?" jeongguk replied, "whats wrong?"
"there's someone down the hall," jimin said. jeongguk looked ahead, there is someone. jeongguk raised his candle, "who's there," he said. the figure started to move, it was running towards them. jimin saw this and his eyes widened.
jeongguk blew the candle out and grabbed jimin's hand, he turned around and ran dragging jimin along. jeongguk and jimin could hear the other person's footsteps behind them. jeongguk knew the castle well enough that didn't have to rely on light. the other person's footsteps were growing faint.
jeongguk turned a corner and threw jimin inside, then himself before closing the door quickly and quietly. in the small room it was dark, only their panting was heard, soon they heard footsteps. jeongguk felt around the room quickly.
jimin felt a hand on his leg, "that's my leg," he whispered and jeongguk apologized then let go. jeongguk felt a button and clicked it. the person was outside the room. jeongguk felt a handle, "do you know how to use a sword?" he whispered.
"yes."
jeongguk felt for jimin's hand and brought it to the sword's handle, then he pulled jimin close to whisper in his ear the plan. jimin felt his heart race as jeongguk whispered the words to him. jeongguk counted down then opened the door.
jeongguk heard the person move and quickly grabbed the person, jimin pointed his sword at the man. thanks to a close by window they were able to barely see.
"let me go!" he yelled as jeongguk held, soon there were guards. the man kicked jeongguk, making jeongguk lose his grip, jimin advanced forward with the sword for the tip to touch the man's chest, "don't move."
the man stayed still. the guards went over and collected the man. jimin put the sword down and rushed to jeongguk, "are you okay?"
jeongguk nodded, "don't worry i am fine, how are you?"
"a bit shaken, but i'm fine," jimin replied, "are you still hungry?"
jeongguk chuckled, "yeah." jimin helped him up and they walked to the kitchen with a candle that a guard had left them.
