"jimin are you ready?" asked the king, "the prince will be here soon."
"i know, i know," the prince jimin replied and quickly buttoned his shirt.
soon all the parks were downstairs, ready to greet jeongguk.
once the doors opened jimin saw jeongguk enter with a small smile on his face.
"prince jeongguk," queen park said happily, "we are glad you are here."
the king gestured his hello which jeongguk returned.
"jimin will show you to your room," jimin's mother said, "i hope you enjoy your stay."
jeongguk thanked her and followed jimin. again the walk was silent, something they were familiar with.
jimin turned the doorknob and let jeongguk enter first, "unlike last time, we aren't going to sleep in the same bed," jimin said, "however the rooms are connected by that door, he pointed.
"you don't have to sleep at the window anymore," jimin said. jeongguk smiled at the memory, "such a shame, i liked sleeping at the window," he joked which made jimin smile a bit.
"i'll let you unwind," jimin said, "i will let you know when lunch is ready."
jeongguk nodded and jimin slipped through the door that separated them.
the room left cold. he already missed home. he sat on the bed and began to unpack.
—
they had lunch and were walking down the hall, "is there anything you want to see?" jimin asked.
"is there a library?" jeongguk asked.
"you like books, don't you?" jimin said, then showed him the way.
once they arrived jeongguk looked amazed, it may not have been as big as his, but it was much cozier.
"may i look around?" jeongguk asked, jimin nodded.
jeongguk began to look around, he looked at the many books. he picked one up and opened its pages, then saw some writing on a page, to jimin, from taehyung.
jeongguk felt a sting and closed the book, of course, he thought. jeongguk went to another bookshelf and picked another.
jeongguk slowly sat down as he was getting more captivated by the story. so much that he didn't notice jimin walking over.
jimin smiled as he saw the face that made jeongguk handsome. his focus look. jimin didn't want to bother him so he picked a book himself and sat beside him.
jeongguk didn't notice the presence next to him. he continued to read. jimin was reading but slowly was falling asleep.
soon jimin fell asleep and had his head on jeongguk's shoulder. jeongguk turned quickly to see jimin fast asleep. jeongguk smiled as he saw him asleep, he didn't want to wake him so he continued to read.
dinner time was approaching and jeongguk was almost done reading when someone entered the room.
a servant had spotted them and came over, jeongguk placed a finger on his lips. the servant nodded, jeongguk gestured for the servant to leave. the servant left a candle with jeongguk before leaving.
—
jeongguk finished his book. what a sour ending he thought and put the book down. jimin began to wake up, he opened his eyes, letting them adjust to the candlelight.
he noticed where he was and quickly took his head away, "i'm sorry," jimin said, "i didn't mean to—"
jeongguk began to laugh, "it's fine," he said, "you didn't harm me."
jimin blushed a bit then there was a growling sound.
"sorry," jeongguk said, " we missed dinner and i think i am hunger now. can i get a snack."
jimin nodded, "of course," he said and they both got up, "i mean i'm responsible for your hunger."
jimin took the candle and lead the way, as they walked down the dark hallway jeongguk noticed that the painting on the wall looked creepier. as if they followed his every step.
"jimin," jeongguk whispered which sent chill down jimin's spine, "is it me or do the paintings look creepy?"
jimin stopped walking which made jeongguk bumped into the smaller one, jimin moved the candlelight so it was towards the painting, "i think it is just your imagination," jimin said and they continued to walk.
soon jeongguk heard something, "did you hear that?"
jimin stopped walking again and listened, "i dont—" then jimin heard the sound. jimin turned around to see if he could spot the sound.
"jimin?" asked jeongguk, "do you—"
"i hear it," jimin whispered back. jeongguk gripped the back of jimin's shirt, "what do we do?" he asked.
"let's run to the kitchen," jimin whispered as they heard the same sound again, quickly they ran. jimin covered the candle as much as he can but soon the light was out. they stopped running. shit.
