jimin sighed as he read the letter, "what's wrong?" asked his mother who was across from him in the library.

"they will be joining us," jimin said and placed the letter down, "prince jeongguk and his family."

the queen smiled, "oh, i am excited for them to visit," the queen said then she closed her book with a smile, "i should express my excitement by writing to the queen."

jimin looked out the window as his mother left the room. i dont want to marry some stranger. i want to marry the person i love—

"jimin?"

jimin turned and a smile was on his face as soon as he saw him, "taehyung," he said a got up, taehyung smiled and they shared a hug, "how have you been little min?" he asked as they hug broke.

"better," now that you are here, jimin replied, "i guess you heard the news?"

taehyung nodded, "i came to congratulate you in person before the ball."

jimin plastered a smile, "i wish i didn't have to marry for the unity of kingdoms," jimin said turning around and walking to the window, "i wish i could marry for love."

"you never know," taehyung said, "you could be marrying someone you love."

jimin frowned and turned around, "i don't even know the guy," jimin replied, "how could i love someone i don't even know?"

taehyung chuckled, "i guess, you have to experience it in order to grasp the idea," he said, "i got to get going, i just came to congradulate you. walk me out?"

jimin nodded and together they went down the hallway to the stairs, "i heard this prince is handsome and nice," taehyung said, "he may be two years younger, but his height makes up for it."

"what do you mean his height compensates for his age?" jimin asked. taehyung smiled as they began to walk down the stairs, "i mean even though he is younger than you he makes up for it since he is taller than you."

"you—"

taehyung quickly rushed down the stairs to avoid his friend's wrath.

there was a knock on the door, "jeongguk?"

"come in," jeongguk replied and got up from his desk as his mother entered the room, "jeongguk i just came to ask you something," she said, "your father and i noticed you took the news about your engagement, well, with no rebuttal. it's a bit surprising, normally there is rejection to the idea. i was wondering, why is that?"

jeongguk was a bit surprised by his mother's question, "because i like prince jimin."

his mother raised an eyebrow, "but you haven't met him before," she said a bit confused, "or have you?"

"i haven't met him properly," jeongguk replied and a smile broke out, "but i have seen him in person during balls. i also do know what he is like."

his mother listened carefully as her son elaborated, "he is very accomplished and gifted. he doesn't have any siblings but goes to the orphanage to visit the children, almost acting like a sibling to them. i guess i like the prince for his actions, rather than the person."

his mother gave him a look that scared jeongguk a bit, "jeongguk, do you admire him as a lover or admire him as an idol figure?"

jeongguk went blank, he never thought of it in that way. he never really considered the other prince as a lover. "i don't know about a lover," jeongguk said a bit sadly, "but i do see him as a role model."

the queen nodded and smiled, "i see," she said, "well, i should be checking on your father and hani, don't work too hard."

"alright mother," he said as she left his room.
