"come in"
Eri slowly turned the doorknob and opened the door. She saw Jun lying down on her queen-size bed while reading a revision book. Eri looked at Jun's feet, the right one was bandaged. Jun looked away from her book to see who came in, expecting it was her mom.
She was shocked seeing Eri in her room. The shock soon turned into a smile, like mother like daughter. Eri's vision was starting to blurry, tears were starting to fall. Jun put away her book and opened her arms wide, the forgiving smile was there.
Eri didn't hesitate to run into her arms. She clutched onto Jun's shirt, apologising between her sobs. Jun kept repeating "It's okay" and rubbed Eri's back. Jun already forgave her long ago, knowing it was also her fault for using force on Eri.
Eri felt unworthy for Jun. How can Jun simply forgives her especially after what happened. "How can you say its okay?!" she cried, gripping harder on Jun's shirt. Jun sighed.
Jun knew the sentence "It's okay" won't give the reassurance that Eri wanted. Eri won't forgive herself even over such a small matter, guilt has it's way to always stay on Eri's heart. "Eri" Jun patted on Eri's shoulder, indicating her to lose a bit of the grip on her shirt.
Eri understood the message and loosen her grip. Jun pushed Eri back a bit and saw her only looking down. Eri couldn't face Jun, she was trembling.
"Eri" Jun called her. She wanted Eri to look her in the eyes. Eri didn't budge, she kept her head low. Jun cupped Eri's face, turning her head gently. "look at me, Eri".
Jun snickered looking at Eri's crying face and couldn't help letting go a few laugh. "You look ugly crying" Jun teased.
"Ugly?! Jun, this is not the time to joke around!" Eri slightly slapped Jun's hand. Jun eventually let go and chuckled.
"I know.. But can't you see? I'm perfectly fine" Jun shrugged playfully, Eri replied nothing but shifted her gaze on Jun's bandaged foot.
"How can you simply forgive me after what have I done?" Eri continued, eyes not looking away from her foot. "What about dancing?".
Jun replied with a smile "It's just a minor injury, the doctor said it will heal in a few days. Take it as a break from dancing too much".
"But still-"
"Eri" Jun called her sternly, making Eri immediately looked at her.
"You have to stop worrying and I already accept your apology. Isn't that enough? It's alright, really. I can go back dancing in a few days and it's also my fault, forcing you talk about it" Jun scratched her nape.
"It's also my fault for not telling you the reasons.." Eri continued with telling Jun about her jealousy towards Hwanwoong.
Jun wanted to laugh but seeing Eri's face, really not a good time. She shaped her lips into a thin line. She patted Eri's head "Haish.. I'm sorry that I didn't realise it sooner".
"I'm sorry too, I should have been honest with you" Eri laughed nervously, making Jun laugh along.
"Say, since your parents aren't home.. Wanna sleep over and have a study date?" Jun asked, her eyes glimmer with hope.
How could Eri say no to that "Sure! Let me get back home and grab some stuff".
...
It was nighttime, Eri was studying on Jun's study table while Jun on her bed. Then, Jun called Eri to help her with a question. "First, you have to-" Eri explained the process on how getting the answer.
Time flew by, without their knowledge it was already past 12. They got ready to sleep. Eri getting comfortable in her sleeping bag on the floor.
Neither of them can sleep, still wide awake. Both were looking at the dark ceiling above them. Jun thought about starting a conversation.
"Hey, are you asleep?" she asked, Eri replied with hummed.
"I'm so scared for exam.." Jun squealed and Eri chuckled in response.
"You better quiet down or your mom will come" Eri replied.
"Right.. Anyway, can I ask you something?"
Eri answered with a hum.
"You said, you saw Yoora when you pushed me.. Why is that" Jun was curious and carefully thought about the question.
Eri tapped her chin, thinking. A lightbulb lit up on top of her head and snapped her finger. She answered,
"when you gripped on my wrist a bit hard, it suddenly triggered me the memory of my first encounter with Yoora. That's how I saw Yoora. Due to my reflexes, I pushed you thinking you were Yoora" Eri sighed.
"Ouh, you were trying to protect yourself" Jun nodded, understood the situation. While Eri face-palmed, she thought of how stupid her reflex was.
Jun didn't stop there, she asked what happened to Eri during her visit to the doctor.
Eri simply replied that she cried. There was more to the story but Eri felt her cheeks getting warm thinking about the afternoon with Xion.
"You've changed but you're still the same crying girl at the park" Jun smiled fondly at the memory.
"S-shut up.. Can I ask you something next?" Eri sat up. Jun noticed her movement, she also sat up.
"Am I weak for crying alot or always seeking comfort from people?" this thought has been playing in her head. Jun wasn't expecting that question so she went quiet, thinking thoroughly for the answer. Not wanting unnecessary effects to come.
"Crying is a form of strength. Its okay to cry and I know you cry alot lately because it's mostly due to stress. Not to be mean, but the stress are usually Yoora related" Jun jokingly said the Yoora part but she heard Eri's giggling at her answer.
"Also, people usually seek comfort during the hard time of their life and that's okay" Jun has never used this much brain juice to come up with an answer for that kind of question, she felt exhausted.
"Thanks, let's sleep for real.. Goodnight, Jun"
Even though it was dark but Jun can see the smile formed on Eri's face. Jun mentally gave herself a good job and a pat at the back.
"Night, Eri" Jun laid back down on her bed and drifted away to dreamland with Eri.
