Cato's POV

Screams are what woke me up this morning. I jumped awake, and pushed myself off the ground. It came to me rather quickly that we were still in the games. I frantically looked around for Kat. She was just starting to get up. I watched as she shoved everything she had around her in a bag - she looked tired and confused.

What the fuck is she doing?

"Kat forget the stupid bag!" I shouted as I watched her fumble with the zipper.

I felt one of the tracker jackers sting my neck. I winced in pain and tried to kill it by slapping it away. Pain instead radiated down my entire body. I knew this was from twelve. I woke up late last night, it was fucking hot having Glimmer wrapped around me. I remember pushing her off as I looked up at the tree the girl on fire was in. She was still there.

Then I remember looking at Kat, who was sleeping soundly. I wish I wasn't so scared of the fucking feelings she brings out of me.

I smacked into a tree and let out a grunt. Everything was getting blurry.

I felt another sting in my back.

Where the hell is Kat?

I could see her stumbling to walk as she was walking the opposite direction of me. I tried my best to run to her, completely ignoring Glimmer's screams for help behind me. I knew she was a lost cause. I would've killed myself if I ran back there trying to help her. She was the one that was closest to the nest when 12 cut it down.

Unfortunate for her.

"Kat," I called after her. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her in the direction of where Marvel was running. The river was not so far ahead. It's definitely a good idea to go there to get all the tracker jackers away from us. "Kat come on keep going." She was stumbling to walk and I could tell her vision was just as blurry as mine.

"What's happening?" She fell to the ground as my grip on her loosened. I picked her up by the shirt, not wanting either of us to get stung again. I didn't know what or who was around us, I really couldn't see. This tracker jacker venom was starting to affect both of our senses. I didn't want to pass out in the middle of the woods completely vulnerable for anyone to kill us.

"Get up," I said. I started to get frustrated with how slow she was getting up. I scooped her up and started running to the best of my ability. I looked down at her every few seconds. "Kat stay with me." She blinked a couple of times before her dark blue eyes met mine. I have to get her to the water.
