"Cato."

I fell to my knees and helped him sit up. He's been hiding or possibly has been passed out in these bushes. I knew he wouldn't go far. I glanced up to see Thresh running back from the cornucopia in the opposite direction of us.

Cato's face was covered in blood, I can't tell if it's his own or someone else's. His arms were cut up though. His white shirt was covered in blood. There was a deep cut that caught my eye on his chin. He looked like something straight out of the bloodbath.

How is he still alive?

Cato, sitting in front of me, bloody and bruised, is something I never would've pictured. But now it's something that'll scare me to the moment I die. It seems like even the strongest can be taken down. And that truly does scare me. Him sitting up, back leaning against the tree, completely vulnerable is something that will forever stay in my mind.

"Stop looking at me like that," he said. I blinked a couple of times, bringing back to reality. I didn't answer him and pulled the bag off my back. I pulled my water bottle out and unscrewed the lid. He eyed it and his familiar blue eyes met mine.

"What happened," was all that I could force out. He stared at me, probably wondering what happened to my voice.

"Thresh and I got in a fight," he said. I slowly lifted the water bottle towards his mouth. "I can do it." I shook my head and forced his arms down.

"You're not seriously going to be stubborn right now, are you?" I poured some of the water in his mouth. I allowed him to finish up the rest of the water, knowing we could always get more. He probably hasn't had water in a day. He stared at me the entire time, I knew he was looking at the bruises on my neck and the cuts on my face.

"You look like hell, Kat," he grumbled out. I stuffed the bottle back in my bag and looked up at him.

"What do you want me to say to that? Thanks?" He stared at me as I put the bag back on my back. I looked around and then back down at Cato. We need to leave this spot. "Get up."

"No," he said and rested his head back on the tree. "I'm not going anywhere." I stared at him and crossed my arms over my chest.

"I'm not going to beg you to come with me Cato," I said forcefully. My voice was still brittle, but my words weren't. I wasn't scared to speak to Cato anymore. I don't care anymore if I piss him off or not. "But I am trying to look after you, and if you don't want that-"

"I don't need you to take care of me Kat." I scoffed.

"Yes you do," I said and I watched him look up at me. "We can win this." He shook his head.
