You made me so unbelievably happy at some times but yet so unbelievably sad at others, and that's how I knew you were dangerous.

I've come face to face with Thresh.

A growl escapes from his lips with a curved knife in hand. A pathetic whimper came from my mouth out of fear. Do I run? Do I fight him?

"You killed her," his words felt like knives stabbing me over and over again. I shook my head furiously.

"No," I choked out eyeing the knife in his hand. "It was Marvel."

"You're lying," he snapped and looked side to side. Probably for Cato. "I'll kill you."

"Please," I choked out. "Please believe me." My words were in a whisper. I was too afraid to move, to afraid to speak at full volume. This guy was bigger then Cato, stronger then him too. I've been avoiding him this entire time. I guess coming in contact with him was inevitable at this point in the games.

"You're by yourself?" he clarified. He looked confused for a hot second. I nodded slowly afraid what his next action was going to be.

"You saw Cato," I said quietly.

"I killed Cato." My breath hitched in my throat. Did I not hear the cannon in my sleep?

Cato's dead.

"Maybe I didn't kill him," he said. "But I left him bleeding out." Tears formed in my eyes. Thresh injured or might as well have killed Cato. I blinked the tears away and suddenly there was no more emotion in me.

"I would've stopped him if I could, she was so young," I cried as he took a step closer to me. He stopped and stared into my eyes. "She didn't deserve to be in here." His anger seemed to die down as I explained my side. "Marvel and Rue were both dead when I had arrived."

Thresh was extremely unpredictable. I truly didn't know how he was feeling anymore. The anger was wiped from his face, I don't blame him for being angry. If my twelve year old district partner was killed I would've been pissed too.

And just like that his hand went around my throat as he pressed me against the warm wall of the cornucopia. He lifted me in the air with one hand. Both of my hands went straight to his singular hand that was wrapped around my neck.

"Please, I didn't kill her!" I choked out. I felt the air being taken from me. Just as my chances were being ripped away of going home. Tears were streaming down my face.

This is where I'm going to die.

Suddenly Thresh fell to the ground. I grunted as my body hit the ground. I gasped immediately letting the air rush back into my body and fill my lungs. I looked at him, he was still alive. The side of his head was bleeding a little bit. I noticed a large rock near by. I looked up to see Peeta running with a limp towards the two of us. Katniss wasn't too far behind him. Neither of them had weapons in their hand.

"Kat," Peeta called out. I looked at him, and then the girl on fire standing behind him. I glanced back at Thresh on the ground. "Just this time." I stared at him in shock. Katniss kept a straight face behind him with her arms crossed over her chest. "Because you were so kind to me when we were in the career pack." I nodded quickly. I needed to get away from this field. I scrambled up and started sprinting away from the situation I just managed to get myself into.

I should be dead. But out of the kindness in Peeta's heart he saved my life.

I took my water out of the bag and put my bag against the tree. I need to start lifting weights if my luck keeps up. I continued to run through the arena once I fully caught my breath. My neck was throbbing. I touched the areas that was sensitive and winced. There's definitely going to be a bruise there, if there wasn't already.

I was scared. I've been on my own for a day and almost died. Thresh would've killed me if Peeta wasn't there.

There's no use of finding Cato now. If he's barely alive I don't have the medicine to save him. Unless he's gotten a gift from someone. But how would he have had the strength to take the medicine that was sent to him.

"Peeta should've just let him kill me," I whispered to myself. I knew no one else could hear me. My voice cracked every time I tried to speak. Thresh must've damaged my vocal cord. I closed my eyes and sighed. What's the use of continuing to fight? I don't have Cato anymore, I've almost died three times now. I'm sure Peeta won't come to my rescue and save me again.

And I definitely can't get out of here without Cato.

Tears went strolling down my cheeks. This could be my last day alive, my luck will eventually run out. And to be honest, I don't want to be alive when I see Cato's face light up in the sky at the end of the night. I'll be a wreck.

A hand grabbed my ankle and I jumped. A scream would've left my mouth if I could talk properly. I turned around grabbing a knife from my pocket. I lowered it once I saw who it was.

"Cato."
