Izuku's POV

"Deku! You're training with me after school today!" An angry pomeranian yelled across the room as he walked through the classroom door. A little embarrassed at the sudden attention, I hide my bright red face in the collar of my shirt while nodding. My eyes stayed focused on the paper in front of me, making sure all my answers were right, ignoring all the eyes glaring holes into my head. While most of this may be an act, not all of it was entirely fake.

"Hey, extras! Stop starring at Deku and mind your own fucking business!" Kacchan growled out as he sat backward in the chair in front of my desk. I smiled gently, a genuine smile, at his rare kindness. After the incident a few months ago, Kacchan has turned from being my bully to my protector. You can imagine everyone's surprise when we showed up at school the next day together with Kacchan suddenly protecting me rather than beating me into a bloody pulp.

Since then, everyone has learned not to mess with me unless they want to mess with Kacchan. Speaking of him, we have become really close, in fact, he knows almost as much about me as Shoto. He knows how strong and smart I really am, and why I hide it behind a mask. That's why he has me tutor and train him almost every day.  It also gives me a reason to skip training with Enji, something that only seems to anger him.

"Say Deku," Kacchan's voice brought me out of my thoughts, making me look up at him through my forest green hair, "my parents have to leave town for the next two weeks and I need someone to watch me according to my mom. Do you think you can get your brother or sister to vouch for me? They wouldn't actually have to watch me or anything, just check-in and make sure I didn't burn the house down, the old hag's words not mine." Kacchan said, rubbing the back of his neck while turning his face towards the windows to hide the faint blush on his face.

Cute. A small giggle escaped my lips, darkening the blush on Kacchan's cheeks.

"No problem Kacchan! They'll gladly say yes, they might even go as far as to bring you food as well." A small smile graced his lips for a split second before he was back to his usual scowling face.

"Thanks, Deku." He said lowly before getting up and moving to his own seat as the teacher walked in. He can be nice when he wants, he just doesn't want to seem weak in front of others, hence why he's only really nice to me when we're alone. When we're alone, he completely lets his guard down and becomes a whole new person. It's such a shame he can't be that way with everyone.

Sighing, I focus on the task at hand, taking notes and completing all my work before school ends so I can train with Kacchan. Lord knows he'll keep me moving until he collapses from exhaustion. Partly so he can improve himself, but mostly to keep me away from home as long as possible. After the incident, he kinda became like another brother to me, doing everything in his power to protect me even though he knows I'm more than capable of doing so myself.

Thinking about all this, I couldn't help but think back to that day, an awful day indeed. But if it weren't for that day, then Kacchan and I wouldn't be as close as we are now. And without Kacchan, I don't think I would the way I am now, and without me, Kacchan wouldn't be where he is now either. In reality, we saved each other, showing each other it's ok to open up and lean on others. I couldn't ask for a better best friend, no, I couldn't have asked for a better brother. Sorry Shoto, Natsuo, and Touya.

"Kacchan! Are you ready to leave yet? I need to be home a little early tonight, Father said he needed to speak to Shoto and I." Kacchan growled in frustration as his grip on his pencil tightened,  almost snapping the pencil in half. I was sitting behind him, my head laid out of the desk with an arm sprawled out in front of me and the other continually poking Kacchan's back.
