My alarm clock woke me up at 7:00 AM. Unlike other students in Melpomene Academy, ako lang ang walang roommate. I mean, ako lang kasi ang afford na mag-bayad ng twice the usual rent sa school na ito. Besides, I have a tedious morning routine, at hindi ako makaka-payag na may makaka-gambala sa akin.

Today marks the first day of the Welcome Festival, the annual welcoming event for the freshmen. Alam kong naka-focus ang festival sa mga first years pero I need to uphold prestige as one of the most talented students in Melpomene Academy.

Bumangon na ako sa kama at pumunta sa banyo. Every time I stare at myself in the mirror, I always see a bright future ahead of me. You see, nagmula ako sa pamilya ng mga artista at kung naiisip niyo na pressured lang ako mula sa mga magulang at kapatid ko, nagkakamali kayo kasi I really love the attention I'm getting from my fans.

Bukod sa walang roommate, I'm also the only one who has a heater. Isa sa mga ayaw ko ang cold showers.

Pagkatapo kong maligo, which took me 30 minutes, umupo na ako sa harapan ng vanity table ko para magpa-ganda, lalo na ngayong araw. Welcome Festival may be for the first years, but I'm eager to steal the spotlight from them. Hindi pa naman nila deserve ang ganoong atensyon.

I started powdering my face before applying all the cosmetics my mother recommend me to use. It would be a sin to not be presentable to the whole school. After all, ako lang naman ang unang first year na nakapag-land ng leading role during last year's Showcase. I have the looks, I have the talent, and I have the boyfriend!

My phone rang and I opened it to see who's calling. As if on cue, it's my stunning boyfriend, Antonio Garcia. If I played the leading lady, then he played my leading man during last year's Showcase. Dito rin nag-simula ang relasyon namin. Needless to say, we became the "it" couple of Melpomene.

I accepted the call and enabled loud speaker (I can't put my make-up on properly if I only use 1 hand). "Good morning, my goddess. How's your sleep?" Antonio asked with his ever-charming voice.

"It's alright naman, sweetie. Akala ko nga 'di ako makakatulog because of all the excitement, but it turns out I slept well. Siguro kasi alam ko naman na ako pa rin ang pinaka-maganda sa Melpomene," I replied as I apply eyeshadows.

"We're still setting up our booth and I don't mind seeing you and your pretty face," sambit niya. Since he is already a third year student, Antonio is the president of the Shakespeare club, a drama club that does Shakespeare.

"Sweetie, I'm still doing my make-up. Subukan namin nina Regina at Belle dumaan diyan mamaya, okay?" I said. "They are still probably asleep since it's just 7:30 in the morning."

"Okay, Goddess. Aasahan ko 'yan, ha? We're also gonna have an impromptu stage act mamayang alas nuebe," he added. "I've been missing to throw lines with you."
