Kasalukuyan akong nakatayo sa harapan ng screen dito sa lobby ng dormitory namin. Gaya ng karamihang estudyante, hawak-hawak ko ang makapal na binder ng script ng Showcase. Hindi lang ako ang may planong magre-read ng script sa lobby kaya naman puno na ang mga upuan dito.

This week is the auditions week that's why we are not required to wear the prescribed uniform and attend classes. This morning, I'm wearing a yellow and sunflower-prints jumper dress. And nope, this is not my attire for the auditions. The curtain calls for the leading roles will be held on Saturday.

Palabas na sana ako ng dormitoryo at papunta sa library para magre-read ng lines nang bigla kong napansin ang pagbabago sa leaderboard. What the fuck!?? Damian told me that Gwendolyn was rank eighth, but now, she's already 10 points behind me. I thought to myself.

"How is this even possible?" sabi ko habang nakatingin sa malaking screen sa aming lobby. How is this even possible? Gumawa ba ng wish si Gwendolyn kay Aschenputtel? I thought to myself.

Kung humiling nga si Gwendolyn kay Aschenputtel, she should have been the first place already. I mean, if you're going to wish for something, why settle for being the second?

"You should have a look on your face," Gwendolyn said behind me. I turned towards her direction. She's wearing a pink off-shoulder dress and a pair of white pants. Tulad ko, bitbit rin niya ang binder na nakuha namin mula kay Dandelion last week. "Gulat ka ba sa leaderboard today?"

"At first, yes, pero naalala ko nga pala na sumali ka sa pitong clubs," tugon ko sa kanya. "What a desperada move."

"What you're calling desperada, I call it perseverance. Gusto ko kasi 'yung pinaghihirapan at 'di lang basta-bastang hiniling na lang," sagot ni Gwendolyn. Napatulala ako sa sinabi niya. Does Gwendolyn know that I made a wish to Aschenputtel? I thought to myself.

She chuckled and added, "Rose, ano bang nakain mo today? You're making funny faces this morning. Besides, I'm only talking about the character in the play. You do know that the play of the Showcase adapted one of the school's fairy tales, right?"
