Short Story: Can't Sleep

A/N: Comment here to see if you can guess who's in this chapter based on the title.
I had a nice day today. But now it's time for me to try and sleep. I looked at the ceiling trying to sleep. I gave up on trying to sleep so I got on my phone. I didn't know how long I was on my phone until I got a text message.

Shinso:
Are you up (L/N)?

(L/N):
Yeah
Why aren't you asleep

Shinso:
Do you think I got these eye-bags by sleeping

(L/N):
Touché
How long has it been since you last slept?

Shinso:
It might've been five days
Or six
Yeah probably six

(L/N):
You haven't slept for that long, you should-

Shinso:
No

(L/N):
Why won't you sleep?

Shinso:
Sleep is for the weak

(L/N):

Shinso:
No

(L/N):
Shinso, can you tell me where you live.

Shinso:
Okay...

Shinso has sent his location

(L/N):
Do you have a room with a window that has a tree near your window?

Shinso:
That's oddly specific
But yes

(L/N):
If you hear a knock on your window it's me.

(L/N) has left the chat

Shinso:
Wait what

I went downstairs and grabbed my switch and some games. I got a backpack and put them in there. I then went out of the window and used my air quirk to soften the landing. I then followed the GPS to Shinso's house. I climbed up the tree and went to a branch close to the window and knocked on it.
"It'sa me, (L/N)"
Shinso opened the window and helped me in. I closed the window and went to his TV.
I plugged up the switch to his TV. "Wanna play some Mario Kart?"
"Sure," he said in a monotonous voice.
I gave him the controller and the wheel thing. I started the game and chose the multiplayer mode. I chose Isabelle and he chose Bowser.
"Shinso close your eyes and turn around while I choose the course."
He turned around and I had a mischievous smile on my face. I chose rainbow road. I waited until the opening credits before saying something.
"Okay, you can turn around now," I whispered.
He turned around and he immediately frowned. I had a shit-eating grin on my face. I used the boost at the beginning and went around the course. With the right amount of drifting and dodging I made it two laps without falling keeping me in first. I couldn't say the same for Shinso because he was in last. It was the third lap I was halfway through it.
Shinso tapped my shoulder,"You might want to look out (Y/N)."
I looked at his screen to see he had a blue shell.
"Shinso, you don't have to do this," I begged.
"Yeah, I have too." he said before he pressed the button.
I tried to outrun the blue shell but I couldn't, it hit me then sent me off of the course. My rank dropped 2nd, 5th, then 8th.
"Hahahahaha!" Shinso laughed.
"Well you know what, I'm still in front of you," I said.
"Not for long." he said.
I got hit by a red shell, then he sped past me right before I could get to the finish line. I ended up getting 9th while he got 8th.
"That's what you get for being so cocky," he said.
I looked to the door to see a man standing there.
"I've been waiting to see how long it would be before you kids would notice me," he said.
"Sorry dad." Shinso apologized.
"Sorry," I said.
"It's alright kids, just keep it down," he said before he left.
We played Mario Kart for a long time. With me winning 9 matches and Shinso winning six. Eventually we turned off the game and we sat in silence with me laying on his shoulder and his arm around my waist.
"Why did you come over here (N/N)?" he asked.
"Well I was hoping maybe I could go you go to sleep but obviously that didn't work," I said, then I realized that it was really early in the morning, "Shinso, what time is it?"
He looked at his phone with his left hand.  "5:30, why?"
I stood up stuffing everything back into my back,"Shit, I gotta go."
Shinso stood up,"Why do you have to leave?"
"My mom's job starts at 6:00 and everytime she goes in my room and leaves me a note. If I'm not there she's gonna kill me."
"Can't you just text her and ask if you can stay longer?" he asked.
"Shinso, I snuck out, if I text her she'll ground me, if you want me to be able to hang out with you at your house in the morning again I gotta leave."
Shinso walked up to me and gave me a hug, "Ok, bye (Y/N)."
"Bye Shinny," I said. I opened the window and jumped out using my air quirk to nullify my landing. I looked up to see Shinso leaning out of the window waving to me. I waved back then started running. Once I was far away I teleported to my house. 5:50 I can make it. I climbed into the window and layed in bed. I could hear my mom come into my room and leave her note on my desk. Hanging out with Shinso was really fun.
