CHAPTER2:PREP & MEETING THE FAMILY

HI HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE THIS BOOK SO FAR....HERES CHAPTER2....

As we arrive in the drive way three cars were already parked outside. The party only starts at seven which is in 3 and a half hours from now. My mom saw me expression. "Just smile." she said. "Dont I always?" I said. Before she could reply I got out of the car and entered the house. Everyone started singing once we entered. Dad stood in the centre of it all with a huge grin plastered on his face. "Thank you all for coming,but would you excuse me for an hour or two?" I asked and pulled Eve up to my room by her arm.

Entering my room I noticed that someone has cleaned it. My reading books,usually thrown on my bed, were on my study table neatly packed. My bed was made and gifts covered it. A small black box caught my eye and I went to open it. "I hope its not a chain or bracelet," she groaned. "No its earrings...from Jodie." I said. "Your cousin Jodie?! Let me see them."she said and came over to me. "Whoa. They're beautiful."she said.

It was silver earrings that hung. Silver squares connected in one vertical line with diamonds in the centre of each square. They were gorgeous. "Now you are definately going to wear them tonight." Eve said. "Yeah okay. I will,but first I need to wash my hair." I said. "Okay so change into comfortable clothes. I will decide on your outfit for tonight."she said. "Thanks." I said.

After washing my hair I left the conditioner on and went to my room. "Your family is really loud." Eve said. "Tell me about it." I said. "Well no offence taken." said a familiar  voice behind me. I turned around and saw Jodie standing in  my doorway with a huge smile. "Jodie! I missed you sooo much!" I screamed and jumped on him. "I missed you too cuz. Especially annoying you and earning a few snide comments or some sarcastic remark." he said. "Why are they so loud?" I asked. "It is a party,Lia."he said. "I need to get done. Jodie,you know Eve,so could you please keep her company while I'm busy?" I asked. "It would be my pleasure. Great seeing you again Eve." Jodie said. "Same to you." Eve said.

I blow dried my hair in my moms room and kept thinking:"Jodie and Eve are alone in my room." I have nothing against them,I mean he's my cousin and she's my best friend,but I will feel awkward with the two of them. Jodie is the flirtatous one. He is tall and attractive. Eve had a crush in him two years ago,but swears it's over.

I was ready at five,but had to get dressed. In my room Eve and Jodie were talking  when i entered my room they stopped immediately. "You dont have to stop on my account." I said. "You know that black strapless dress and silver belt will look awesome. The earrings will match and maybe your black wedge? Eve suggested. "Okay fine,but do I have to wear a wedge? Cant i wear my black Blakes?" I asked. "You could and your hair?"she asked. "Leaving it down." I said. "Pin back the left side and let it hang on the right."she said. "Okay." I said.

I got dressed in the bathroom and entered my room. Both Jodie and Eve looked at me for a few minutes and i got  self conscious. I now saw that the dress hugged every curve of my body and was a few inches above my knee. "You look...WOW!" Eve said. "I would totally date you if you werent my cousin." Jodie said. "Stop exaggerating." I said. Even I had to admit that I looked pretty,but they are acting as if  I'm the last piece of pizza on the plate. I put on my chain and bracelet as well as the earrings while Eve got dressed. She chose a blue faded skinny jeans,a red off-shoulder top and Blakes. She braided her hair to the side and she looked amazing. "Whoa." Jodie whistled. "You look amazing." I said. "You too babe."she said. "Lets go ladies." Jodie said and hooked his arms into ours as we headed downstairs.

The music was blaring downstairs and the members of my family were everywhere eating,drinking,talking ,dancing and all of the above. Mom was preparing food in the kitchen. "Honey you look gorgeous."mom said. "Thanks mom. Do you need any help?" I asked. "No. Enjoy your birthday. Is Eve the only friend you invited?"mom asked. "Oh no! I totally forgot. I invited Tyler Lewis. He's a new student,but im suppose to send him our address." I said. "No worries. You can still send it now. I have made enough of everything."mom said. "Thanks mom." I said.

Outside I was considering phoning him or texting him,but my phone rang. "Hello Amelia?"said the caller. "Yes hi." I said. "Its Tyler." "Oh hey sorry. I completely forgot." "No prob. My mom said I could come,but I needed the address." "Sorry. Number 8 Salisbury Road." "Thanks. I'll be there soon. 'Till what time?" "Ends at ten." "Thanks." "Sure. Sorry again." "Its okay." "See you."

"Who was that?" Eve asked. "Tyler. Wheres Jodie?" I asked. "Is he coming? And his inside."she said. "Yeah he's coming." I said. "Okay. Are you happy?"she asked." Yeah why?" I asked. "You should be ecstatic! You are 16!!"she screamed. "I know." I said. "Lets go inside."she said. At 18:25 mom and dad dished food for everyone. My mom made Breyani as it was my favourite dish. All the kids,17 of us, were in my room. My room was filled with pictures and quotes. My curtains were black and my bedding was white. On my bed were two huge teddy bears,one white and the other black. If you haven't figured it out yet, I abdolutely LOVE black.

"When is Tyler coming?" Eve asked. "Yeah. I want to meet this dude." Jodie said. "Be patient." I replied. At that moment my mom called up. "Amelia. Someones at the door for you."mom said. "Coming. Thats probably him." I said and went down. As i came down my mom nodded towards the door.

It was Tyler. He wore a blue jeans,a black Tshirt,a black-and-grey baseball jacket and a black Nike takkie. His hair was spiked up. "Hey." I greeted. "Hi. Sorry I'm late."he said. "No problem. Its my fault you are late anyways. I shoukd have given the address at school." I said. "Thanks for the invite though."he said. "Sure come on in." I said.

We entered the house and some of my family members stared at him. "Everyone this is Tyler." I said and just as uncle Joe stood up I pulled Tyler to the kitchen. "Sorry about that,but I cant handle him." I said. Tyler chuckled." Its okay."he said. "Mom this is Tyler. Tyler,my mom." I said. "Evening Mrs Thompson."he said. "Evening,dear. Are you hungry?"mom asked. "No thank you." Tyler said. "Are you sure?" Mim asked. "Yes,thank you."he said. Dad entered the kitchen. "Hey kiddo. Having a good time?"he asked. "Not yet." I said. Dad turned to Tyler.

"So is this the boyfriend I never knew about? Do I need to give the whole father speech?"dad teased. "Daaadddd!!!" I whined. "John dont embarrass her. You can join the others,Lia."mom said. Dad laughed. "Only kidding. Pleasure meeting you son."dad said. "Likewise sir." Tyler said. I pulled Tyler by his arm. "I think its best we go." I said.

We got upstairs. Eve and Jodie were discussing something. "So this is the infamous Tyler." Jodie said. "Jodie,Tyler. Tyler,Jodie." I introduced them. "Finally another dude i can communicate with. Being outnumbered by chicks is horrifying."as Jodie said this Eve and i glared at him. "Unlike most girls,these two can keep you interested for a while and aren't too girly as you have seen Amelia has an obsession with the colour black." Jodie said. Tyler chuckled. What a lovely sound." Tyler this is Eve." I interupted my train of thought.

"Hi."she greeted. "Hey."he said. We sat doqn and then I only noticed. "Where are all the other kids?" I asked. "With their parents." Jodie said. "Why?" I asked. "You cant babysit all the time. Its your birthday. Have fun!" Jodie said. "I have fun." I said defensively. "Prove it. Stop over thinking and just go with it." Jodie said." So what are we gonna do?" I asked. "How about a game of spin the bottle?" Jodie suggested.
