Finding back home (Birdflash and Spideypool)

Chapter 15

His eyes wanted to open at the sudden wave of pain behind his back. It was feeling like something was stabbing him. A pain that he had never felt before and not even a scream could escape but quiet whimpers.

Even then his eyes stayed glued and he felt hot. A feverish state was felt, and he heard someone say something, but he couldn't understand it. Nor was he knowing what was happening. The pain was all that he could register, and the pain just wasn't going away.

A prick was felt and then everything went black.

His body was rolled together, and a bad soreness felt at the back. It was the only reminder of the excruciation pain he had felt. This was why his eyes slowly opened and he realized that something soft yet silky wrapped around him protectively. It wasn't the normal thing and he was confused when slowly sitting up to see something pure white seen.

Wings.

He had wings.

Mothertrucking wings. Was all he could right now register. His mind was even confused when seeing this. He shouldn't have wings.

"Wally, you need to stay calm." A soothing yet calming voice brought him out of this state.

Slowly he turned around and he could just nod at Barry right now. "So, it seemed that we were wrong with assuming that nothing happened." Voice calm and still reassuring as he heard him explain this.

"Two days ago, in the middle of the night, wings starting to grow, and you ended up with a fever because of the pain." Again, the same tone. "It is a similar reaction to what happened to Peter when he got his powers."

All he could do was nod at this and unsureness was felt. "What now? I can't just walk around with wings." Voice shaky and he felt a bit stressed out. It was cool yet he feared that people could try now to kidnap him.

"I know it's a lot to take in, but we will need to know what you can do." This time Bruce was talking, and he realized that he was right now alone with the two people.

"Okay, uh will I be stuck with them?" His voice held unsureness, and both had a look that answered everything. So that he let out a sigh. "Alright, I guess I will need to find out first what I can do and what weakness they have."

It was clear that he was still anxious about it, but he may as well wing it. It was just another power he had now, adding with his speed.

"First rest and when your better we can test them out." It was Barry this time who said it and he could just nod.

One thing they have found out in his time of rest, they were sensitive and well petting them made him relax instantly. The bad thing was about this was that he ended up being in a blissful state for 30 minutes.

So that this was not something that he liked but the only person who found out was Peter and Dickie as they had been there and obviously Bruce. How he knew he had no idea, but this was Batman and Batman always has a way to find these things out.

Today was the day they would try to see what he could do and well they found out obviously that he could fly. Another thing was that his body was lighter than it used to be. It was as his body changed specifically for him to fly.

But that came with a price, his bones were less sturdy, and he had to be a bit more careful then others. How much force wasn't known, and he rather doesn't want to test this theory out.

Another thing he realized how awesome flying felt and he couldn't help but feel really giddy about this. So that now he used them when they fought Villains. Risky but not too much risky as they realized that his bones were sturdy enough to take hits.

What he didn't know was that stress can get him sick. None knew this really and it was found a few days after it was heard that the light got active again. Why he got stressed out wasn't clear, but it was making him stressed out. It led to him freaking out and having slowly getting a fever.

Hiding this wasn't the best thing because Dickie found out and soon Peter heard. He got mother hen now by both Pepper soon and Peter. They didn't even let him leave out of his bed and he was forced to stay in bed.

But hey the good thing was that he got to cuddle with Dickie. At some point he got called to a mission and he ended up with Morgan who wanted to cuddle with him. They watched together child shows which she enjoyed.

But one minor thing he forgot to mention to Morgan, because the girl starting to pet his wings, and this led to him to fall into that state. It had freaked out his sister and well he had to explain later on to both Pepper and Morgen what happened.

Even after the explanation Morgen petted his wings, but this time with asking. He wasn't minding it too much as he knew that he was safe here. So that he had a really relaxing day.
