Y/N Y/L/N was the it girl in Hawkins Indiana, everyone knew her and her family. She seemed to subvert female clichés and tended to hang out with Max Mayfield, learning new skating tricks and reading comic books. She was different and that's what Will liked about her, surprisingly, not many people took a romantic interest in her. Will was shocked by this but after a conversation he knew why. People were intimidated by you.
Will badly wanted to ask you to dance but a girl had asked him to dance and he accidentally out of shock said yes. He thought you'd be fine, you could dance with Dustin but Nancy was dancing with him. You stood by the punch table, putting down your cup down before walking to the fire exit.
"I'm sorry, I've got to go." Will apologised to the girl he was dancing with and made his way towards the fire exit.
You sat on the cement on the floor and watched the scenery. Will sat beside you and tried to follow your gaze.
"Are you following me, Byers?" She asked with a small laugh.
"No, well yes...um what was the question?" He questioned, his face began to feel warm.
"Your cute."
"Why are you out here?" He managed to get out. "I'm sure any guy would be lucky to dance with you."
"The guy I want to dance with me...well he was off with a different girl." Probably Mike, Lucas or Dustin.
"Well I could dance with you." Will offered.
" I would love to, Zombie Boy." She said mocking the newspaper articles.
The two of them were up now, Y/N was about to go back inside when Will stopped her.
"Lets dance here."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and his arms hung loosely around her waist. The music became a distant memory. They shuffled towards each other and finally, Y/N closed the gap between them. Will was the first to pull away, Y/N rested her head on his shoulder and will stood frozen and red faced, his eyes wide with surprise.
