chapter 9;; soft ivory

Adjusting his watch, Taehyung stared at himself in the mirror.
His eyes looked tired (from staying awake until stupid o'clock to complete paper after paper) and his shoulders seemed to slump ever so slightly.
Wanting to try something new with his appearance, he pushed his silky hair up and decorated his forehead with an envy green-coloured bandana.
The different hairstyle allowed his sharp eyebrows to be visible, for some reason making him appear... manlier? Hm, he sort of liked the new look. His tee fit perfectly, highlighting his broad shoulders and chest. His collar bones were presented with a gorgeous emerald pendant hanging just above them by a delicate, silver chain.
This was the first time in a while that he felt somewhat comfortable with the man who stared back at him, rather than ducking his head down and avoiding to look at him.
From some angles, he found himself hot, even.
He was physically ready for the get together with his friends. Sure, they sat together most evenings at Chocolatea, though that was mainly work-based, so they hadn't had a proper catch up, yet.
Mentally, however, he was not ready. Not only was he anxious about spending time in Jungkook's presence, but he felt guilty for worrying his friends when he ran from the tearoom a few days back.
Though, he knew he couldn't hide from his anxieties forever. With a huff, he walked away from the mirror and left his dorm, navigating Namjoon and Hoseok's.
As he walked, he admired how the frangible petals of the blossom trees still had beautiful touches of colour, fading from coral and carmine pinks to a more gentle, soft ivory shade.
The grass he walked alongside had some patches of marmalade straw within it, contrasting against the healthy areas. Although Taehyung thought of it as a perfect imperfection, appreciating the beauty and uniqueness of nature.
After all, he knew there was no such thing as an ugly imperfection.
He really cherished nature. It was exquisite.
As he turned a corner, he saw Jungkook sat on a bench under a tree, chatting away on the phone to someone. Great.
Just as he was about to turn back around to avoid talking to him for a little longer, they made eye contact, and it felt as though his world had stopped.
He unknowingly began walking towards him, shame almost present in his features, though he soon remembered how bloody hot he looked that day, immediately standing up straight and owning each stride.
Whilst keeping eye contact with the older, the younger mumbled something to the person on the other end of the phone and hung up, clearing his throat as he saw Taehyung stand right in front of him.
"We need to talk," Taehyung mentioned, quickly lifting his eyebrows as he subtly smiled.
Jungkook nodded, his eyes big and curious as he stood up to walk on his side, "Do you know where Namjoon's dorm is? God, I've looped this fucking field about three times."
As Taehyung nodded and let out a deep hum, he began walking and pressed his lips together in a straight line, thinking about what he could possibly say first. Sure he scripted this out repetitively earlier on, but why was it so hard to say now?
"I," He began, the vowel thick and hesitant, "didn't mean to do that the other day. It's just... I felt horny and... I was thinking with my dick."
Jungkook hummed, hinting for him to continue. "It was so impulsive. Sorry. And I know you're probably weirded out, 'cos we're- we're friends."
