COURTNEY'S POV:

I turned around, puzzled on why there was weight on the other side of my bed. Last night's events came rushing back to me as I eyed the fully clothed (thankfully) Duncan snoring next to me.

I asked him to stay. He stayed. He helped. It's going to be okay.

'It's going to be okay' I echoed my thoughts, mumbling to myself. Duncan instantly stirred and woke up, looking disheveled, slightly startled and dare I say it, kinda hot.

'Your a very light sleeper' I stated, ignoring my last thought.

He shrugged his shoulders sleepily. 'Helps when you're a criminal' He said, turning back around into the blanket.

Suddenly, an old thought resurfaced. I jumped out of bed, shaking it as I leaped towards my desk, snatching my laptop. He groaned from me shaking the bed. I turned to him smiling. I was going to be strong. Like he was for me.

'Let's...forget yesterday.' He nodded in agreement. I got back in my bed, sitting up this time.

'Remember my promise?' He looked confused.

'Huh?' he said, propping himself up on his elbows. I rolled my eyes at him and opened my laptop.

'Job finding time' I said, giving him jazz hands. He groaned and lay face down into the pillow.

'Can't we do this in the afternoon?' he mumbled.

'Nope.' I smiled, then started browsing available jobs and apprenticeships.

'Do you have any qualifications?' I asked, hopeful.

'I have my US highschool diploma and that's it.' He sounded genuinely miserable. I searched harder, looking in every nook and cranny of the web. I perked up at something available.

'Okay, here's an idea.' The lump under my bed sheets didn't move. 'You can work an Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship for 15 months.' He groaned.. I ignored him and carried on. 'Earning $13 dollars an hour' He groaned even louder. 'For eight hours a day, 5 days a week' His groaning and 'ughs' ceased to an end, and he turned towards me.

'What's this for anyways?' He asked.

'Automobile engineering in a garage about 25 minutes away' That's when he finally perked up and started listening.

'Your kidding?' I shook my head. 'Even with basically zero qualifications?!' I nodded, watching his eyes dancing with excitement. Then he started frowning again. 'Not enough for rent though by myself. I'll have to get another job.' He sighed.

A lightbulb appeared above my head. Well, not literally. You know what I mean.

'Maybe...' I started. He raised his eyebrow. I ducked my head shyly. 'You could move in with me'

He looked at me surprised.

'But..Bridgette' he hesitated. I sighed, and confessed.

I told him. I told him the conversation I heard between Geoff and Bridgette, holding back tears. He rubbed my back and I leaned into him, desperately trying not to cry.

'Well, I'm all for that idea, but you'll have to ask Bridge first.' he said. I nodded and we finally got up from my bed.

'Breakfast?' he asked, grabbing my hand. I looked at him, anxious. 'Low-everything, promise.' he reassured. I smiled, trusting him and let him lead me to the kitchen.

We spent the rest of our time chatting, emailing out requests for interviews for Duncan, and watching movies. Bridgette came back at 5:00pm, on the dot, just as we reached the end of our movie. She hung up her jacket and looked at me confused, then Duncan, then me. Duncan then looked at me, and got up.

'Well that's my queue to leave' He said, and got up. 'Bye' He smirked at me. 'Have fun with the awkward conversation' and fluttered his fingers at me.

'Neanderthal!' I yelled at him as he shut the door. Bridgette looked at me, sitting down on the couch slowly.

'So.' She started, looking baffled.

'So.' I repeated, grining.

'Court, just spill the beans before I shove them out of you!' she shouted playfully, waving her arms around.

'I heard your conversation with Geoff last night' Brdigettes face fell serious and worried.

'Listen, Court...' She started. I interrupted her, taking a deep breath.

'I want you to move in with him' I said calmly.. She looked at me in shock.

'What?' she exclaimed. My eyes twinkled.

'You heard what I said'

'Court, I would love to, but I can't leave you just like that, I wouldn't be able to live with myself! And let's not mention..' I put my finger to her lips.

'I've already found a roommate' I said. She raised an eyebrow, questioning me. I stayed silent, waiting for her to figure it out. Her mouth suddenly formed an 'o'.

'DUNCAN?' Heather screeched, for the fifth time in the last hour. We rolled our eyes at her.

'Yes' I repeated.

After negotiating with Bridge, we agreed that she would leave at the end of the week (Duncan's eviction day is on Sunday), leaving her furniture and taking just her clothing and possessions.

Afterwards, we called Heather to come help pack and tell her the news. She couldn't believe it, and was still kinda salty at Duncan. Even after all he's done for her.

'I, for one feel offended you've replaced me so quickly' Bridgette exclaimed dramatically, her hand on her heart. I pushed her playfully, but my face went serious again.

'It's a job and a half looking after me Bridgette' I sighed. 'Plus I really want to see what your kids look like!' I squealed.

Bridgette blushes heavily and ducked her head.

'Shut up' she mumbled. Me and Heather laughed at her. Heather turned to me.

'When are you going back to work?' She asked. I groaned. They gave me this week off for 'medical reasons' and then they want me back again.

'This week off, hmmm?' She said, smiling slyly.

'Don't even think about it, I know that face and I can tell you're plotting something.' I said, wagging my finger at her. She giggled.

I lay down on the bare mattress, Bridgette took everything with her.

'I'm so lucky to have you guys' I said.

'You need it' they replied, at the same time.

And then, we all collapsed into a heap of giggles.

A/N:

I'm sorry this took so long to come out, I haven't been feeling the best lately, that's all.

We have like 1 major event happening in like 1 or 2 chapters then maybe 2 more chapters and that's it for this book.

I don't think there will be a sequel, but it's because I'm gonna co-write a book with xxhibba and I need to finish Anxious.

Love you all, always  xxx
