'My Kind of Guy'
"Ano bang nagustuhan mo sakin?" Tanong ko sa lalaking kaharap ko. He's confessing.
"I-I like you because you're different. You're simple, kind, caring, and easy going. Truth is, I like everything about you. So please Arnaiz, give me a chance?"
Sa halip na maging masaya sa sinabi niya, napangiwi nalang ako. I already heard those line for the nth time. What they'd said are surely overwhelming for others, but not for me.
I may sounds stagy, but I have my own reason. I don't want them to woo me for those petty reasons.
"I'm sorry. But I decline" sagot ko at iniwan siya palayo.

After almost a year, another confession has been made. This time, It's from my friend, Benny. I do have a crush on him, alright. But it's not enough reason to spare him.
"Ano namang nagustuhan mo sakin?"
He smiled at me.
"I like you, Arnaiz" I only raised my left eyebrow.
"I like you because you're kind and simple. You know how to comfort me, how to calm my nerves. You're also sweet and have a good sense of humor"
Onced again, I am dissatisfied. That is not what I want to hear. I was about to turn him down when he continued.
"Noon iyon. Bago tayo lubusang magkalapit. Now, I like you because you are you. I have no other reason. I just like you, Arnaiz Catalan"
And that's, what makes me smile.
