(3rd person POV)
8 YEARS AGO
Carmine woke up startled from his dream in a beat up chair with his rifle in his lap. He slowly got up and looked out the window. "You good?" John said who was sitting down on the ground smoking a cigarette. "Yeah just had a bad dream" Carmine said. "Hey tell me again why joined again?" John said. "I don't know. I have nothing to live for I guess" Carmine said. "Dark..." John said. "Why did you?" Carmine said. "Eh I was bored" John said. "Of course you were" Carmine chuckled. "Hey. Do you think we're gonna make it?" John said. "To be honest, I have no idea" Carmine sighed. "But hey we're fucking marines so, I feel like our odds are pretty high". "Heh hoorah to that" John said. "...Hoorah" Carmine said looking out the window.
THE NEXT MORNING
Baghdad, Iraq
The Marines drove in the desert in their Humvees. They were all in a line. Carmine was in the 4th car with John, and two other Marines. It was all quiet and all you can hear is the rumbling from the cars until Carmine started talking. 'Her name is Noel' Carmine started to sing under his breath. 'I had a dream about her she rings my bell' John started to sing as well. 'I got gym socks in half an hour oh how she rocks in Keds and tube socks' Carmine said. 'But she doesn't who I am' Carmine, John, and the other two marines sang. 'And she doesn't give a damn about me, Cuz I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby!' They all sang aloud.
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby!
Listen to Iron Maiden with me, oooooooooooh!' They all sang. They all started laughing. Carmine looked at John and look in front of him to see the car in front of them get hit by a RPG and fly in to them making there car roll over. Then everything went black.
(Sorry that this one was short but since it's a flashback ig it makes sense.)
