Chapter Twenty-Four:

Old Friends

TW: Violence, blood, guns, knives,

Levi's POV

I went upstairs after we ate dinner to prepare myself for tonight's meeting, anything could happen. I changed into a pair of jeans that aren't too tight, this was so I could move fast without struggle. I slipped on a loose white t-shirt, dressing in all black would look too suspicious. After slipping on my belts and gun holster I grabbed my leather jacket and pulled out the best pair of shoes I had. I walked back downstairs and Eren seemed to be lost in thought, "Hey kid, did you eat enough? I need to show you the two rooms you're going to be in."

We walked down the long hallway and I slid a small key into the lock, and pushed open the dark wooden door. I saw shock fill his face as he stepped inside and looked at all of the books scattered across the shelves. "Well.. this is it, my library. It's not the biggest room in the house but It's the safest. No windows, and a bathroom through that door over there, it all you'll need. If you want to bring in your phone, sketchbook go ahead. I don't give a damn what you bring in here as long as you don't make a mess," I finished and gestured over to the door.

"May I bring in a blanket and a pillow, in case I get tired?" He questioned.

"Brat I said I don't give a damn what you bring in as long as it's not a mess," I barked back with an attitude, "I'm leaving at 10:20, I need to be early."

"Okay, I guess that's fine," He said in a normal tone as he looked back to take it all in.

"Perfect. When I leave I will be locking you in until I get back," I commented blankly and turned back to walk out, Eren followed closely behind.

We sat in the living room watching the sunset fade in the background, I read a book, and Eren was drawing something new. I turned the pages softly and the ticking of a clock made it feel as if time was slowed. This wasn't my first time reading House Of Leaves, but I felt it was worth reading a second time. The way it was composed together gave it such an intense mood and I liked things that could make you really think things over. The author wrote in a matter that makes you think, 'Oh my god. Why in the world would he do this, it makes no sense.' to 'Oh wow, that makes total sense.' It was creative. Time grew short and I placed a bookmark in my book before standing. "Is it really time for you to go already...?" Eren asked, looking up from his book and placing it on to the glass tabletop. I nodded and gestured for him to stand.

I slid my gun in the holster and slipped a switchblade into the inner pocket of my coat. "Do you really need those....?" Eren spoke nervously, "Yes," I didn't explain myself, I didn't have to. He gathered up his things and We walked down the hall to the library and He stepped inside and made himself comfy. "I should be back around one o clock, maybe one-thirty don't get things dirty, and try not to make too much noise," I said before closing the door to the room and locking it. Now then time to go.

I drove down the darken streets and thought about how many times I had really driven this road. It was nothing new to me, I could probably do it blindfolded. I wasn't going because I wanted to, I was going because I didn't have a choice. If I didn't I would be killed. I knew their game.

As I pulled off the road into the small parking lot of the warehouse I noticed some familiar cars sitting there, I parked farthest from the door and stepped out being very cautious, calm, and alert.

"So you did decide to show...Levi good to see you," This voice was deep and I had recognized it. "Long time no see Callium, as for the rest of you I suppose," I kept my tone deep and strong. A tall man wearing a black trench coat sat up from a couple of boxes that lingered in the more shadowy area, "Levi...Oh how I've missed you.." He said as he reached out to touch me. I threw a quick right hook in his face. "Don't fucking touch me," I sneered. The tall man staggered back, "Well I see you are just the same as you were when you were sixteen," He sat back down. "Why don't you just move on from that little accident kid, you know I didn't mean it," His tone became teasing and it disgusted me. "Yeah because holding me agaist a wall and trying to slit my fucking throat was a total accident old man," I spit in disgust and the other men standing around didn't dare say a word. It was clear Meesha was their leader now.
