Chapter Forty-One;
Tutoring:
TW:Violence
Narrators POV:
“I have so much fucking workkkkkk” Eren complained as he climbed
into Levis car.
“So do I! You kept me out of school too you know...fucking brat,” He
mummbled that last part.
“You chose to stay home!” Eren fought back.
Levi just sighed and kept on driving, ‘I guess it is my fault-’ he thought
to himself. The had become more friendly, and Levi was kind of glad that
he had detention, because that meant that there was less of a chance
someone would see him with Eren. It wasn't like he was ashamed to be
seen with him, he just didn't need extra rumors. Especially ones involving
Eren.
Levi knew that this was going to cause a fairly large dent in Eren's
grades, and maybe a small one in his but he wasn't too worried about it. All
the teachers knew him for having such good grades, that they all thought
he cheated; but none of them had ever found the proof they wanted so they
gave up.
“Why do I have to do this….it doesn't make any sense,” Eren
grumbled as he slammed his head down onto the table.
“What does not make any sense?” Levi questioned walking over to
him. He had finished all of his work about two hours ago, and now it was
around 11:00 pm.
“All of this. Math sucks…,” Eren sighed.
“Want me to help?”
Eren nodded and Levi sat next to him on the floor, slowly but surely
Levi walked Eren though all the steps of everything, he needed to get his
grades up. With Levi’s help, it actually didn't seem that impossible to either
of them; which was an obvious surprise. Everynight that week they went home and Levi tutored Eren, they
would spend some days in the Library but most of them he spent at home.
They always selected some random playlist on youtube and blasted it
through his speakers while they worked, and every couple of songs levi
would say something along the lines of :
“...and then you find X by doing..damn this song is shitty.”
Eren found it funny, and he giggled at it everytime, but surprisingly he
had all of his work done in a week and his last day of detention was today,
as was his first math summative before midterms. He and Levi drove to
school as usual, but Erens nerves were racked up. Before leaving this
morning he was confident and felt prepared, but now he didn't. He felt like
he was going through airport security and then accidentally having a gun
on him. Both cases were somewhat improbable. Levi tried to reassure him
but when it came to academics he didn't really know how, he was more
like:
“I can tutor you, but tests and anchorage ment are out the window.”
He knew that he would be fine, but it didn't really feel like it and there
really wasn't a whole lot that he could do. He really just wanted to take it,
get the notification he didn't fail it so he could get it all over with. When he
walked in he went straight to his locker and he had gotten used to never
batting an eye to say goodbye to Levi when he just got out of the car. Oh
course he was tempted to, and he may or may not have wanted a small
kiss before he left, but under Levis' request he had asked him to just get
out of the car and not say anything, try to not make eye contact.
Levi really did not want other people to see Eren with him, and that
made eren a little sad because he felt pushed away, but he really should
have expected it. Eren had made the mistake of getting way too attached to
the docile Levi, and now he is starting to get that nervous feeling you get
when you’re afraid. A part of him had completely forgotten the fact that Levi
was still a violent, uncaring, and rude person to people he didn't like or
trust. He had been known in the school for that reason, because despite his
height he was extremely strong, emotionally and physically. Hange had This was the last day we are doing presentations, and Levi and I
weren't allowed to leave so we just passed a sheet of paper back and forth,
well two pieces. One was our actual conversation, and the other was just in
case we got caught and she decided to read it out to the class. We had
done this everyday and she had only caught us once, when he handed her
the “note” a look of confusion raised on her face and Levi scoffed, the
paper was blank. She gave up and tossed it into the trash, and now if she
saw one she didn't really care, and figured it was blank. Boy was she
wrong.
They talked about so much, Levi would occasionally write something
flirty and watch eren's face get all flushed;he wore it well. Mikasa payed
close attention to them, and hardly the class at all. She secretly wanted to
trust Levi, because Eren would be happiest that way, but a part of her
couldn't shake the feeling that Levi was responsible for the whole incident.
Little to her knowledge, he was responsible for some of it, but neither of the
two were going to come forward and blankly say that.
Levi had already been in trouble a few times, but got out of it thanks
to Calcium, now he didn't have that luxury and had to be a lot more careful.
Levi might have been a smart individual, but he didn’t have an exactly
clean record.
He had killed an uncountable amount of men like nothing, and still
managed to not regret anything. How he did it, even he didn't know. Maybe
it was the drugs, maybe the alcohol, but now that didn't matter. He was
standing, standing strong. The two boys split up, only to sit together again
at lunch because Hange joined our circle, and no one seemed to mind. She
was kind, and had some good stories. Even some that made Levi want her
to shut up.
“Hey do any of you want to come over and have like a mini party
tonight?” It was just going to be Hange, Levi and I but we want to know if
any of you want to come,” Erwin proposed.
“Yeah!” Reiner, Bert, Sasha, and Connie all said in unison.
“Jean and I are down!” Marco cheered before Jean argued.
“I’m up for it!” Eren said and glanced over to Levi.
“Then we are too!” Mikasa pitched in.
This was going to be fun. Real fun.
