"Care to dance?" Damien questioned.

~~~~~~Present day~~~~~~
Therapist- So I assume you accepted his offer?
Sophia- Yeah I did. That was my first mistake.
Therapist- Please continue.
Chrysanthemum, (pretty weird name if you ask me) the therapist, gestured me to grab a cookie from the table and to continue on with my story. She could see the hunger in my eyes. I eagerly snatched a few cookies and began talking again.
Soon after that, I found myself on the dance floor. All the lights made me a bit dizzy, but I focused myself. My body tensed up as Damien placed his hand around my waist. My heartbeat quickened at his touch, and butterflies formed in my stomach.
Damien- Do you know how to dance?
Sophia- I-I uh....... no I don't.
Damien- Well I can help with that. Just follow my lead. I adjusted my hands on his shoulder. A lump was forming it my throat, making it hard to form full sentences.
With his hands around my side, Damien brought my body closer to his. I looked up at his face, he was so close to me I could feel his breath. Damien tilted his head down to eliminate the distance between us and looked at me with deep thought.
Damien- You look as radiant as a queen, Sophia.
His sweet words caused me to blush. But as the night went on we danced. My body was shaking for a long time until he started making funny faces. This helped lighten the mood. And it became easier for him to lead his partner.
I was so caught in the moment I didn't realize Damien's mood changed. His hands started to shake. And his breathing became more rapid. My feet stopped moving. Looking up at him, I placed my hand on his cheek. "Damien are you ok?" I asked. We had both stopped dancing.
Damien took a deep breath and bowed. "Thank you for that dance, excuse me for a moment." He walked off the dance floor, enveloped by all the people.
I made my way back to the bar and something caught my eye. The flaming red hair of an old friend. "Jessie!" I called out. The woman turned around and startled me. Jessie's eyes were tinted red, her clothes were messed up, and her "date" was gone.
Sophia- Jessie are you ok? What happened!?
Jessie- I wijfgh t-to thaer shdjsej.......
Sophia- I can't understand a word you're saying let's just get you home.
Jessie pushed me away. "N-nooo I don't waaana go h-hoome," she said with a slurr.
I helped her up from the chair and made sure she still had all her stuff. My eyes scanned the party to see if Damien was back yet. If I ever saw him again I would have to explain what happened. But now was not the time for courtesies. Jessie was immensely drunk.
I dragged her out of the party, her arm over my shoulder. Her body was so heavy, and I was damn tired. My bright phone screen illuminated my face in the dark street. I ordered us an Uber since someone else drove us here.
I flinched at the sound of footsteps behind me. I was probably just another person leaving the party. The same man in the same button down shirt stood in front of me. Damien!?
Damien- Care to explain what you're doing? I looked everywhere for you.
I didn't think I'd see him again this soon. And he was still a bit shaky.
