Oh my god, oh good gracious god.

Haemi slammed her palm over her mouth, keeping her gasp of shock and disgust in. Out of fear and shock, she pressed her body against the tensed vet in front of her with her arm loosely hanging around his waist as if he had officially taken the role of her bodyguard.

Their bodies stayed stagnant at the entrance of the stall with no movement at all as they held their breath, as if it would confirm that the sight was reality and not in their imagination but Jimin knew of he doesn't do anything, it won't be the last time they witness this so the vet lightly pushed Haemi's arm off his waist and rushed further into the stall where a lifeless horse laid with white foam drooling from its mouth and nose.

The foam from it's mouth had a mixture of crimson red and slight yellowish as well. The horse's torso didn't heave at all which sadly 90% confirm that it's not breathing. However, the animal seemed to be the only devastating sight in the stall because the walls weren't stained with blood, the hay around the horse weren't dirty other than being wet with the bloody foam and most of all there wasn't any tools or weapons in there as well, so it gave the couple a few crosses off the list of possibilities.

"Close the door, Haemi"

Jimin spoked lowly, returning to his professional emotionless voice that demands instead of flirt. Haemi gulped but quickly obeyed his words. The door slide shut before she went over to Jimin who was inspecting the horse as he knew it was already dead and sadly, it died quite some time ago which disgusted him to the core.

Jimin wore a pair of surgical gloves before gently lifting the horse's mouth up, not wanting to ruin any evident. He lowered his head to match the horse's drooling mouth while he shone a flashlight at the foam. He touched the foam and rubbed the content between his fingers. Though he was wearing gloves, Jimin could still tell the warm temperature and the thick consistency of it, hint him the estimated time of death and also the cause.

Haemi squatted in front of him as she watched the vet in silent, not wanting to interrupt him. But her heart was aching at the sight of the poor horse. It was a beautiful dark bay thoroughbred that she would always pass by before visiting Lion. The small pats and greeting unknowingly built a mild bond between her and the stranger horse. Even if it wasn't a horse she knew, Haemi would still be biting her lips with watery eyes when they die especially in the hands of disgusting human beings.

Out of conscience and grief, she reached out to pat the horse but Jimin caught her wrist before she could land her hand on it. She glanced up with red glistering eyes and nose as though she pleaded to pat the horse as a goodbye.

Jimin's heart tugged when he met her sad gaze that melt him. His once serious and angry gaze turned soft and sympathetic when he saw how heartbroken Haemi was.

"It's okay baby"

Jimin moved towards her and sat beside her, letting her head rest at the crook of his neck and he kissed her temples. Haemi gritted her teeth in anger and grief as she quietly sobbed into his white coat that her fists were clenching at.

She felt a tug of guilt in her heart. The guilt of not pushing herself to work the mission out earlier so none of the horses suffer.

As if he could sense her guilt, Jimin tilted her head up by her chin and looked deeply into her eyes.

"It's not your fault baby. We'll fix this, alright?"

He brushed the tip of their noses to comfort her. It may work for now as Haemi softly nodded, she knew she would have nightmares and overthinking nights to get pass.
