The pot whistled with steam gushing out from the tiny hole in the cover, alarming the boiling of the stew. She rushed to the stove and turned it to low heat, letting it slow boil before she opens the lid and white smoke blurred her vision. The smell of spicy kimchi stew invaded her nose when the lid was off and filled the entire kitchen with its mouth-watering aroma. She hummed satisfyingly at her red stew. She prepared a bowl before pouring the stew into it along with some kimchi and tofu. Her hand slipped under the tray before lifting it up and walking upstairs to a specific room that had been dark for the past few days.
With the stew in her hands, she leaned her ears onto the wooden door and as she expected, the same muffled sobs and faint sniffles. She have been hearing those since, well, forever. At first, it was screaming cries and table flipping, even yelling when her husband enter the room, attempting to somehow brighten the room. Now, it's just silent cries and hiccups.
She sighed before gently opening the door. As usual, she finds her son all curled up on the bed, under the duvet, shoulders trembled a little as he sobbed. Well, at least he finally climbed on bed. She thought to herself, remembering the way he sprawled on the floor and curled up in the corners as he broke down.
"Min-ah...."
She called out as she stood at the door, not sure if he wanted company at the moment. Hearing no response at all other than sobbing, she took it as positive for her to enter further.
She closed the door with her foot before approaching the rolled up duvet on the bed. She placed the tray on the side table before sitting down beside the curled up figure. Though she would love to stroke through his hair and kiss his forehead like she always do when he was little, she knew she had to give him some space first and not trigger him as his temper was still unable.
Sensing no movement, she leaned down a little and try to take a look at her son who have been absent for a long time and only stayed in his room. She gently tugged down the duvet to uncover his face but a small gasp left her mouth when her eyes scanned his whole face.
Red puffy eyes, red nose, sweaty forehead, rosy cheeks and dried lips. He looked like he was dying which he indeed was. The lifeless man let out hiccups and small sobs as his mom's mouth gapped at the sight of him.
"I love her, ma"
Mrs Park gulped at his cracked hoarse voice. Her hand cupped his cheeks that flattened, unlike his cute mochi-like cheek because of weight lost. She caressed his cheeks bones and stayed quiet, letting him talk as she knew all he did was cry but he needed to talk it out as well.
"I love her so much.....b-but....she doesn't....or maybe she do....just that I hurt her.....but I was hurt as well....I-I...UGH!!!"
He groaned loudly before covering himself with the duvet again, hiding under it like a scared rabbit in its burrow. His sobs got louder and he started whimpering as he tightened the hold on the duvet.
Mrs Park sighed as she watched helplessly. She knew very well her son won't listen to anyone other than the one who left. She used to do great in comforting him when he told her about Sora and surprisingly he was taking in the comfort and motherly-love very well and not to mention he listened to Mr Park as well.
However, in this case, he went berserk on that day, rampaging through the house and fought with Mr Park on ridiculous things and nonsense. The curses and swears were flying out of his mouth like a thug or a gangster, both of which the parents weren't happy with. That led to Mr Park yelling at his son to put him back in place like a child. But Jimin sure act like a child and stomped to his room where he locked himself away for days.
