*tw: suggesting toxic family and health issues*
Patton and Virgil laid on Virgil's bed side by side. Virgil had his purple LED lights on. Patton had just done his makeup and he Virgil was taking pictures of himself. He was far from a narcissist, but he couldn't deny he felt hot that day.
Patton fidgeted with his hands on top of his chest. "Virge?"
Virgil put his phone down. "Yeah?"
The younger one inhaled sharply. "Nevermind."
He turned on his side. "Is something up?"
"Um..." Patton's eyes darted across the room, then laughed to himself, but it didn't seem like he thought anything was that funny. "I'm going to ask something stupid."
"It's probably not stupid. I mean, it might. But you seem serious right now, so I don't think so."
The other gulped. "How did you become so sure you're bi?"
With raised eyebrows, Virgil replied, "Oh. Huh. I just always liked girls in that way and later on I started liking guys in that way. It took some time but I found the right label, eventually. Are you questioning?"
Patton shrugged. "You know I've identified as pansexual for like, forever. But... I mean, I know I'm still pan. So what I guess I'm trying to say is- Ugh."
"You don't need to feel weird in front of me."
"I think, so I'm not completely sure, but I think I'm asexual. Like, panromantic?" He put his head in his hands. "Isn't that weird? Every 19 year old likes it. I just don't feel it. I feel like I might in the future, that's why I'm not sure. Maybe I haven't met the right person yet."
"Dude, being ace isn't weird. Questioning isn't weird either."
"I don't- I'm just confused. I'm really sure that I'm like, ace, but I dunno. At the same time, I have no idea."
"Well you don't really need a label until you feel like you want one. So just, like, keep doing whatever you want."
A wide grin spread across Patton's lips. "I want to dismantle the government."
Virgil snickered, "Me too. Fuck romance. For me, at least. Anyone new in your life?"
"Nah." Patton shook his head. "I like focusing on my job and my friends more than dating," he joked. "Money can't break my heart."
The singer laughed loud and high fived Patton. "Felt that."
"And maybe it's okay if I don't wanna do stuff like that. Y'know, I'm probably gonna end up like my mom so I don't want my kids inheriting our messed up genetics. But who knows. Maybe I won't end up with a biological female and it won't matter anyway."
Virgil frowned. "Don't say that. You're so healthy." In his head, he understood Patton's fear, but it wasn't the time to add on to someone's worry.
Patton laughed sadly. "That's because we're still 19. Who knows what'll happen when I'm older?"

"Everyone's guessing big celebrities in your comment section," Janus sighed. "They're going to be disappointed."
"Maybe some of them," Virgil and Logan said at the same time.
"But the song is going to get rid of their disappointments. It's really good so far," Virgil said.
Logan added, "I think this is going to be really good for you. A lot of people will start listening to you because of this collaboration. Hey, what's the song about anyway?"
Janus' eyes widened. "Uh-"
Then the doorbell of Janus' apartment rang and the smaller singer immediately jumped up to get it.
"Hey, Janus! I got stuck in traffic." Roman looked past his friend and saw Virgil sitting there next to Logan. His cheeks flushed in an instant, but this was the time Virgil told him he wanted to meet him, so he fought through it.
He couldn't breathe. He wanted to cry.
"This feeling is so much different sober," he commented.
Virgil laughed nervously and got up to say hi. "It's nice to see you again so soon."
Roman choked on air and stammered meaninglessly. He didn't know where to start. He always imagined meeting Virgil, but drunk wasn't one of them, and speechless wasn't the other. "I-I've been listening to your music since freshman year."
"Yeah, Janus was talking about that. That's so cool," Virgil said. He tried to stay cool but it was always strange seeing the people idolized him.
"U-Um, I- Uh..." Roman scrolled through his phone and showed Virgil a picture. "I drew this fan art for you years ago. I-I dunno if you remember it, but you liked and commented and shared it, so like, ha, that's cool..."
What the hell, Roman? The actor beat himself up in his head. Where did your confidence go?
Logan and Janus seemed to be asking themselves the same thing on the inside. Neither expected to see Roman like this, not even with guys he's liked in the past.
Virgil gasped loudly. "Holy shit, Roman! This was you? I remember this! I fucking cried because you posted it after my mom yelled at me one time and it made my day."
Virgil! he scolded himself. The world doesn't need to know about your family problems.
"Uh, I mean," he went on, "look." He opened his phone to the home screen and showed his wallpaper to Roman, which was the same drawing Roman was showing him.
Roman almost passed out. "Are you- Are you serious?"
"Yeah..." Virgil blushed. "It's been my background forever, even when I changed my phone."
"But like, this drawing is shit. And you still like it? I can do a whole lot better nowadays."
Virgil shrugged. "I still really like it. It's always meant a lot to me. Always will."
It was an inked drawing of 15 year old Virgil crying night black tears. It was framed skillfully with gold paint.
He couldn't believe the hot guy from the café had been such a long time fan, that he remembered. When his parents weren't there for him, his music was. And his music shockingly came with fans.
"Can I... hug you?" he asked.
It was such a stupid thing to be nervous about. Virgil had hugged many fans before, but this was different. Roman had changed his life and he didn't even know until years later.
Roman's jaw dropped. "Y-Yes?" His heart couldn't take it. He might die.
So Virgil hugged him, tight but not uncomfortably. Roman obviously hugged back. He'd imagined hugging Virgil since he was a literal child.
"I literally love you," Roman breathed out.
Virgil always enjoyed hearing that from fans. It made everything he worked towards worth it.
