Chapter 5- Always and Forever

Danny picked James up by his collar and started yelling in his face. “What in the fuck are you doing kissing Lexi!!?”

“I-I was just…” James didn't even get to Finnish for Danny’s fist had come down and connected with James’ jaw. I heard him cry out in pain.

“Lexi?” he now looked to me, dropping James back to the ground. He came up to me hugging me.  “Did he force this on you? Im so sorry I shouldn't have trusted him.” By then I had pushed him off of me. It was now or never, right?

I could feel the tears start down my cheek for I didn't know what was to happen. “Danny,” i paused looking at James who was now sitting up straight leaning against the wall holding his bruised and beaten jaw.

“Danny,” I repeated. “He didn't force me into it.”

“What are you talking about Lexi, why would you be kissing him then?” his voice was angry and rough, and with every word he spoke it made me flinch.

“Cause I love him Danny..” i said in a whisper.

HIs face distorted from anger to confusion. “What about Blake?”

“Blake was just a cover up, I- We. We didn't want you finding out and it looks like you have.”

Danny looked back at James then to me. “James, do you love her?” he said sighing at the ground. 

James struggled to get out an answer, but managed a small “With all my heart.” I smiled slightly at his answer. 

Danny turned around putting his hand out to James, and he took it cautiously. Danny then proceeded to help James up. “James I'm going to let this…’thing’ between you to happen,” He pointed his finger at James’ chest, “But if i find out anything about you hurting her… Im going to make you wish you were never born, James. I will kick your ass out of the band, and beat it.”

James looked at him and nodded. “I wouldn't dream of doing anything to hurt her.” He looks at me and smiles. Danny starts to walk away, but turns back.

He looks at James. “If you do one thing that hurts her…. remember what I said.” He then continued down that hall and down the stairs leading to the living room. 

“Lexi.” He said turning to me, taking me in a huge hug. I snuggle my head into his shoulder.

“Im so glad he’s actually ok with this.” James laughed trying to sound like he wasn't in pain. 

“Oh god, James.” I grabbed his hand rushing him to the bedroom. “Sit on the bed, Im going to go get something to help your jaw.” 

I ran down stairs and into the kitchen only to be stopped by Danny. “Hey, Lexi. I’m only letting this continue because I love you. But if anything happens tell me and I’ll handle it.”

“Okay, well Danny the only way you can help right now is by getting out of my way. You've done enough.” I said pushing him out of the way. I ran over to the cabinet grabbing a small towel and a sandwich baggie. 

“Why the pissy mood?” 

“Danny…. You just punched him! Do you expect me to be happy about this?” I walked over to the fridge filling the bag with ice and wrapping it in the towel. 

“Look, Lexi-”

“Danny, I dont need any of your petty excuses. Just leave me alone.”
