We were currently in his office after eating our meals. I was back to wearing one of his shirts and a pair of his boxers and was sitting on the couch watching as he worked. Levi had given me a laptop and and after teaching me how to use it, I was now browsing through different websites looking for clothes to buy.

I didn't quite remember how to read since literacy wasn't my number one priority back at my old pack and at the age of seven, my reading skills weren't quite efficient yet so I quickly forgot all that I had learned.

Levi didn't really seem surprised once I confessed about my lack of reading skills. He patiently introduced me to all the different features of the laptop and made sure that I knew it was okay to ask him if I had any questions. I mentally took notes on all the buttons that he told me to click and I shopped based on the photos that displayed the item.

I had never shopped online before and Levi gave me free reign over his personal credit card which was separate from the credit card used for the pack. He told me that the pack had good farm land and we made profit from all the crops we grew in addition to all the members that had jobs in the human towns and cities that surrounded us. All the money the pack members made they were able to keep while money from farming went into the pack savings. The money Levi had in his account was collected over the years from all the Alphas that had come before him, some of which had been successful businessmen so there were millions saved.

I had bought a few pairs of jeans and simple t-shirts since I didn't want to waste any of his money on anything too expensive but he insisted and we ended up getting enough dresses and skirts to last a decade. I set the laptop aside and shut it off since the light was hurting my eyes.

I rubbed the sleep away from my eyes and glanced at Levi who was typing away on his own laptop. His eyebrows were furrowed as he focused on the paperwork in front of him. I noticed that when he was thinking he would sometimes tap his pen on the edge of the table or run his fingers through his hair. It was hard to keep my gaze away from him when everything he did made my heart skip. His office was silent other than the clicking of the keyboard as he typed and I was so engrossed in watching him that I hadn't realized he was talking to me.

He paused his work and glanced up at me, his stare sending a wave of heat down my spine. "Did you need something, little moon?"

I bit my lip and nervously questioned, "W-what happened to him?"

"Who?" His gaze darkened at my question and it only made me more anxious to hear his answer.

"L-Lucas."

He growled and his whole body began to tremble under the force of his fury. "You don't need to worry about him anymore. I have him locked in a cell and he won't go anywhere near you ever again."

He hunched over and shut his eyes, taking in deep breaths trying to calm himself, his hands clenching the armrests of his chair. I slowly walked over to him and placed my hand over his. His anger immediately receded as he pulled me into his arms and leaned his head against my chest. I tentatively wrapped my thin arms around his broad shoulders and I could feel his muscles tense as I made contact with his back.

"Levi?"

"Yes, Rain?"

My voice trembled and my heart felt heavy. "Is it possible for you to let him go?" His arms tightened around me and I could tell that wasn't what he wanted to hear. The room darkened as he spat out, "And why in the fuck would I want to do that after he hurt you. He was going to hurt you again if I hadn't stopped it, Rain. I can't just let him go."

I gently rubbed his tense muscles with my small hands, hoping to calm him down. He visibly eased but I could tell he was still angry. "He technically didn't do anything wrong, Levi. He saw that I was a rogue and he perceived me as a threat to the pack. You can't blame him for doing what he thought was right."

He growled but made no move to answer me and I sighed but let it go, not wanting to upset him any more than I already had. I hugged him to me and he leaned up to bury his nose into my neck, sniffing my scent. Another question was burning holes in my mind and his name fell from my lips before I could stop it. "Levi?"

I tangled my fingers into Levi's hair to stop my hands from shaking. "I-Is my father d-dead?"

My heart began to pound as my question was answered with silence. Levi let out a sigh and dropped his arms away from me, rubbing his eyes tiredly before brokenly whispering, "No."

I did not know what I expected to feel once my question had been answered but I didn't expect to feel nothing. Numbness filled every crevice of my body and I wasn't surprised at my lack of pain.  He may have been my father and I loved him for all that he had done as my dad, but I killed my dad the day my mom died and I no longer knew whoever he was now, whoever was still out there wearing the face of the man I used to love.

"Oh," was all that fell from my lips. I had nothing left to say about the man who ignored my screams for help and my pleading as I begged for him to stop.

Levi stared at my face, trying to get a glimpse of how I was feeling and I stared back with a blank expression. "Are you upset?"

I shook my head and replied, "No, I'm not upset."

He seemed as though he didn't believe me but he nodded anyway and pulled a chair over for me to sit in. Once I settled down he began speaking, "Your father ran away while his pack was fighting. We were so busy trying to round up all the people that wanted to join our pack and fighting those that fought back that we didn't notice him slip away until it was too late. I've had the border patrol on the look out for any trespassers and a few of our members are trying to track him down but we don't have any leads yet."

"What are you going to do to him once you find him?"

"He's going to pay for all the harm that he's done to you, Rain." Levi grabbed my tiny hand in his and squeezed it as though it was his lifeline. His eyes were determined and they burned with a fury so bright I couldn't fathom why someone like Levi would care so much about someone like me.

"But Levi, what if I deserved it?"

His eyes widened in shock and a worried expression took over his face. He searched my face for anything that could tell him why I would say such a thing but I gave him none. "Why would you say that Rain? There isn't anything that you could have done that would make you deserve the treatment you got from your father."

I pressed my lips together and made no move to answer him. A frown tugged at his lips and his forehead wrinkled as he said, "I don't know exactly what happened when you were with him or why you would think that you deserve anything that was done to you, but I'm here when you're ready to talk about it and I'm not going to judge you, okay?'

I turned my head towards Levi and gave him a small nod before he pulled me so that I was sitting in between his legs and his hands were interlocked with mine. He let out a small sigh as I leaned back into his embrace. He nestled his face into the crook of my neck, his mouth brushing against my pale skin as he spoke. "I'm never going to leave you, little moon. I can only hope you feel the same after you find out about me."

I cuddled closer before whispering, "I'm not going anywhere, I promise."
