Truly, Madly, Deeply- A Julian De Vizio fanfic

Chapter 1

“I'm scared Dani,” was all Julian could say all day as he waited for his name to be called.

“You have nothing to worry about Juls, you’ll smash it and they’ll love you!” Dani tried to convince him, “we wouldn’t be here if we all thought you couldn’t sing,” she continued as she pointed to his Nonna, mum and sister.

“Number 21148- Julian De Vizio?” called the lady from the other side of the room. Julian felt instantly more nervous. He looked over at the lady, then back at Dani to see her smiling at him,

“This is it!” she excitedly said, and they walked back stage to be greeted by Luke Jacobs.

“How are you feeling mate?” Luke asked Julian as he waited to go on stage.

“Ahh, a little nervous but I’ll be alright,” he convinced himself. As he walked on stage he looked back to see his family and Dani smiling next to Luke. Then he looked out from the stage to see thousands of people and those four judges seated in front of him. ‘This is it’ he thought to himself before Guy Sebastian started to speak.

“Hello! What’s your name?”

“My names Julian, I’m 16, and I’m from Adelaide.”

“Did you bring anyone here?”

“Yeah, I’ve got my mum, my sister, my Nonna, and my best friend,” Julian smiled.

“Did your nonna help with the song choice?” Guy joked,

“Ahhhh no,” Julian laughed along with everyone in the room.

“Alright Julian, good luck!” the judges wished, and Julian began to sing. His song choice was With You-Chris Brown. When he stopped singing, the audience erupted. He looked backstage to see his family and best friend cheering.

“You’ve got a great look; the audience went crazy for you!” Nat Bassingthwaite commented.

“You’ve got something special, I can see it,” Ronan Keating continued.

“Thank you, thank you so much,” Julian was overwhelmed.

“It’s a yes from me!” all four judges said, one after the other.

“We’ll see you at boot camp!” Ronan finished off. Julian ran back stage and hugged Dani first. She was the one who convinced him to audition so it was all thanks to her. Then he hugged his mum and his nonna, before Luke said, “They’re all pretty proud of you. Nonna’s pretty happy mate,”

“Yeah, she’s always been behind me,” Julian replied and put his arm around her, “but it was Dani who made me do it,” he smiled, along with everyone else.

“Well it was a good thing she did. Good luck at boot camp!” Luke finished, and with that they left the studio.

“I told you that you’d smash it!” Dani punched him as they walked into Julian’s house.

“Thank you so much for making me do this, Dani. If it wasn’t for you I would have never done it,” he smiled at her.

“Well it’s what best friends are for, right?” Dani smiled back and he took her into a hug. Every time she saw him smile, she just wished she could kiss him. But that’s not what their relationship was like. Julian and Dani were best friends. Yes, they shared their first kiss with each other, and their first time, but that was it. They never took it further.  Julian’s excuse was that it would ruin their friendship if they were in a relationship and it didn’t work out. Well at least that’s what he told Dani. The truth was that he was scared to start a relationship with her. Not because it would ruin their friendship, but because he thought he wouldn’t be good enough for her. At the same time though, he didn't think anyone would ever be good enough for her. He was definitely sure that he loved her now, but Dani never told him that she was in love with him, and he never told her how he felt either.
