‘Hey Jules! I’m guessing you aren’t answering my calls because you’ve been super busy, or you’ve completely forgotten about me now that you’re in a boy band and whatever :P But I'm just checking up to see how you’re going as you travel around Australia. Miss youuu!! Xxx’

Julian read the message as he and the boys were leaving Zach’s house in Brisbane. They were going to Adelaide next and he was feeling guilty for ignoring his best friend in the last two weeks.

“Who’s that?” Jayden asked him as he read the message and put his phone back in his pocket.

“No one,” Julian had told the boys about what was happening with Dani, and even though they advised him against it, he wanted to try and get her out of his mind. The harder he tried though, the more it saddened him. She was his best friend, the one who was there with him when no one else was. She was the only person in his life that he trusted more than anyone. He loved her like crazy but he couldn’t handle the pain of not having her as his girlfriend, as her being only a friend.

“Mate, if that’s Dani then you better reply to her message. She’s your best friend. You’ve known her since you were born and she’s done nothing but support you throughout everything. You owe her a text at least,” Jayden tried to convince him as they sat in the car.

Julian knew Jayden was right. Dani didn't do anything wrong to deserve this, but he thought about how hard it has been for him to have this restraint against her, and how quickly it would be undone if he just let it go and replied to her.

“Jules man, you can’t just ignore her. We’re going to Adelaide now so you’ll have to face her eventually.” Trent added to the conversation. Julian was convinced. He wasn’t going to completely ignore her, he loved her too much to do that to her. He grabbed his phone and replied back to the message.

’Hey Dani! Sorry I haven’t been calling you and pretty much ignoring you, I’ve just been super busy and haven’t had much time to do anything. I’m on my way to Adelaide now with the boys so I’ll see you soon. X’

Dani read the message and, even though she should be happy that Julian’s coming home, she wasn’t. She could see it in his text that he wasn’t the same Julian anymore. He already had no time for her and the live shows hadn’t even begun. Before she received this message, Dani hadn’t spoken to Julian in two weeks. It had taken him two whole weeks to remember her existence, and their schedule wasn’t even that busy.

‘On your way? How long will it take you to get here? Can’t wait!!’ She replied, hoping he would answer this text quicker than the last one.

’Don’t know. I have to go, I’ll see you soon.’ was all she got back. She thought about replying back to it but couldn’t figure out what to say. His text was blunt. Dani knew that she should be angry and pissed off, but she wasn’t. She was sad and disappointed. She hoped that when Julian came back to Adelaide, he would be the same guy that left a month ago. She put her phone down and pressed play on her laptop. Julian’s voice was singing ‘God Damn You’re Beautiful’ by Chester See out of the speakers. She lay on her bed and cried. This CD should make her happy, but now it was making her miss the only friend she ever really had. Yes she had other friends, but none like Julian. He was the only one who stood by her and helped her get through all the hurdles, but the hurdle she was now trying to get over was him and she didn't have anyone to help her through it. Dani was scared that she was losing her best friend. She remembered when he told her that he could never forget her, and she was afraid that he was wrong. There was no way that she would be able to handle losing him as a friend. Dani was completely convinced that he wasn’t in love with her like she was with him, because if he was, he wouldn’t let her off that easily. As she cried, she drifted off into a sleep.

Dani woke up at 8.30pm. She wasn’t sure how Julian was getting to Adelaide from Brisbane, but if it was by flight then he should be here by now. She checked her phone but saw no new messages.

“Well that’s nothing out of the ordinary these days,” she said to herself as she got out of bed and went downstairs.

“Mum, I'm going to see Julian’s mum. I haven’t visited her in a few days. Want to come?” She yelled out from the bottom of the stairs to her mother, who was in the living room.

“Yeah honey, I’m coming. Let me grab my things,” her mum yelled back as she walked to the door.

Dani knocked on the door as she stood there with her mum. As Julian’s sister answered the door, a van pulled up in the drive way.

“I wonder who that is,” Julian’s sister commented as the head lights blinded them.

“Yeah, I’ve never seen that van here before,” Dani said as the lights turned off, and it was dark again.

Suddenly, five boys awkwardly walked out of the van. Dani couldn’t recognise the shadows of any of them, except one. Julian was home.

I know I said I would update Sunday, but I realised I probably wouldn't be able to because I have work. So here's the next chapter. Don't forget to let me know if you like it! :) xx
