Chapter sixteen

Jughead's POV*
"Today was the day of the baby shower and I was excited to find out the gender, but I was worried something would happen to Jellybean now that she was also pregnant. Veronica had been the one to plan the baby shower so I knew I'd be a little over the top. I was almost 100% positive that the baby would be a boy. All of the Jones' first borns were boys. Everyone was getting ready but Jellybean, she had her head buried in the toilet, while dad tried to comfort her. Betty didn't know that Jellybean was pregnant yet, Jellybean didn't want her to know yet. I walked downstairs and everyone was already in the kitchen. Jellybean looked tired, like Betty had when she started her pregnancy. "Hey Jug you excited for today, what do you think the babies gender is?" I knew dad also wanted the baby to be a boy. "A boy probably." "No I think it's a girl or maybe it'll be twins. Isn't Betty a part of the Blossom family, there know for always having twins," Mom said and Jellybean nodded. "Yeah, the Coopers are Blossoms but I don't think it'll be twins. Anyway I gotta go help Veronica and Betty down at the speakeasy for the baby shower later today." They nodded and I left.
Betty's POV*
"Thank you so much for letting Jug and I use the speakeasy for tonight, Veronica." "B, don't ridiculous of course you can use the speakeasy." I smiled as Veronica turned around to finish putting up the banner. Ten minutes later Jughead walked in and greeted the three of us. "So Betty, Jughead what do you guys think the babies gender is?" "Personally I think it's a boy because all of the Jones' first borns a boys," Jug said. "I think it's a girl but I'd be happy with either." Jughead nodded at that. "Okay so the cake goes here, the presents go here. Here is the two confetti poppers with the gender inside. Oh and Archie's on his way with the cake, which he should be here already. Ahh there he is," Veronica exclaimed. Archie came down the speakeasy with his giant cake that looked like it could feed all of New York. "Ummm Veronica did the cake have to be that big?" Betty asked with an eyebrow raised. Archie seemed tired of carrying the cake. "Finally! Veronica do you understand how heavy that was. I think I broke my arm," Archie complained!
2 hours later*
Jughead's POV*
People had started to arrive, friends and family. Betty was wearing this light pink dress with same ruffles. I was wearing a blue button up shirt with black jeans. Everyone was wearing whatever they thought the baby was going to be. Mom and Jellybean were wearing pink while my dad wore blue. Alice went over to Betty to talk to her, Alice was wearing pink as well. After a couple hours of people coming up to us and congratulating us it was finally time for the gender reveal. "Alright can I have everyone attention. Betty, Jughead get up here. It's time to see what the gender is," Veronica told the crowd. Betty and I walked to the stage where Veronica handed each of us a confetti popper. The whole crowd started chanting, "5,4,3,2,1."  Betty and I twisted to the handle. "IT'S A BOY," the whole crowd erupted with cheers. Betty and I kissed and held each other in our arms as a few tears fell down our faces. After what seemed forever the party finally ended and we went home. Betty was with her mom and you could tell Alice had been crying. "So Jug are you Betty gonna keep the Jones family name going," dad asked? "Yeah probably, Betty wants too but we're still gonna come up with a nickname." The both nodded with smiles on there faces. I was about to ask Jellybean if she was okay but she beat me to it. "I think the name Grayson's cute," she said softly. "Actually I like that, I'll have it discuss it with Betty first though." She nodded and went back to staring at the window. I actually had really liked that nickname. Forsythe (Grayson) Pendleton Jones IV I'll have to tell Betty, I know she'll love it too.
