The trip was long and boring, not a living thing in sight...

I was trudging through the Gerudo Desert in attempt to reach the famed town full of women. My luck with men has not been the greatest. Most of them have been harsh, cheating, and ill mannered jerks. But asides that, my reason for going to this town is to take classes on love. I feel like I might rediscover my will to be with someone. Alas, little did I know, my life would change forever.

After walking for two days, I finally reached the town. If there was a time I was grateful for being a female, it would have to be now. Once I entered, I began walking around town. I asked many different women where the classes were taking place. Once given the location I began walking in that direction until I bumped into someone. She was a large Gerudo woman and by large I mean big muscles.

"Ah, my apologies..." I quickly apologized.

"It is alright... Say you are that Hylian Vai that has been going around. You are the talk of the town," said the woman.

"R-Really? Gee I'm not the type that gets talked about often..." I replied.

"Nonsense, you have a good figure. And you have muscles!"

She was not wrong about the muscle part. Growing up, I had an older brother who was studying to be a knight. In my village women were forbidden to learn anything about Knighthood, so my brother taught me. We would often sneak out at night and practice in the woods. To this day, no one knows about me training in the art of swordsmanship.

"Ah, I appreciate the compliment," I said to the Gerudo woman.

"Of course! By the way, what is your name?"

"I am Y/N."

"It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Buliara. I am the right hand of Chieftess Riju."

"Oh! Should I bow to you or..."

"What? No, of course not," she said with a chuckle. "If anything you'll have to bow to the chieftess when you meet her."

"Ah right," I said with embarrassment bubbling up inside.

"Hmmm, now that I think about it, I should be getting back to her now... Say do you have a place to stay for the night?"

"Well I was going to use my rupees and stay at the inn."

"Don't waste your money, come you can stay in the chieftess' home for the night, my treat."

"A-Are you sure? I don't want to impose..."

"Nonsense, the chieftess will love a beautiful vai like yourself."

After she said that, I was whisked away. Next thing I see is the throne room and Chieftess Riju sitting there. I quickly bowed and Buliara began telling the Chieftess of our encounter. I briefly looked up at the Chieftess while Buliara was speaking. She had beautiful long red hair, dark skin that appeared to be smoother than a stone, and emerald colored eyes, that could pierce a person's soul. She wore a gold crown, a crop-top, a skirt that had one side open, and heels to complete her look. When she spoke, it was as if heaven was smiling down on me, gracing me with an Angel's song.

Once Buliara finished, Chieftess Riju grew quiet and looked me up and down. She was studying me, no doubt trying to read everything about me. My past, my training, my desire to come here, she could see it all. She read me like a book. Probably looked into my very soul.

"Hmmmm..."

"My chieftess, a word please," Buliara said.

Buliara moved to Chieftess Riju's side and began whispering in her ear. I tried listening to what they were conversing about, but to no avail. These women were masters of whispering, their skill unmatched.

"Very well, you may stay. Buliara put in a good word for you," the chieftess said.

"Thank you so much," I said with a bow.

"I will not charge you for staying in my home... However, I ask for your help instead."

"Of course your chieftess, I will provide my help in exchange for your generosity."

"Please, you may call me Riju, you are not one of my subjects."

"R-Right..."

She grew quiet again, probably reading my soul again...

"You look exhausted, I will give you the details tomorrow. Buliara, please show her to a guest room."

Buliara responded with a nod and ushered me out of the room.

"The chieftess has taken quite the liking to you," she said while we traversed down the long hallway.

"Really? She is quite beautiful herself," I said with a small smile.

Buliara noticed this and gave a great laugh. I was surprised and jumped. She then began explaining her conversation with Riju. Buliara talked great things about me to the chieftess to convince her of allowing me to stay. I was very fortunate to have Buliara telling Riju those things, but something made me feel like it did not take only her words to convince Riju...

Once I entered into the room, Buliara bided me a goodnight and left. I looked around the room, taking it all in. A comfortable looking bed sat to the right of the window and a closet sat to the left. Along the left wall, closest to the door, sat a table with a vanity, on the table was a wash basin. I began settling in for the night, storing my clothing into the closet, placing my bag down, you get the idea. I then heard a knocking at my door. I opened it to find Riju standing there. She was in her night apparel which consisted of a long shirt, pants, and sandals.

"Greetings, I came by to see if everything turned out well for you."

"O-Oh, um yeah everything is a-ok in here," I said with a small stutter. I silently cursed myself for stuttering.

How embrassing... I thought to myself.

"That is good to hear, well I wish you a good night. And should you need anything, do not be afraid to ask," she replied.

"O-Of course, thank you."

After that she left and I was left alone with my rushing thoughts. I pushed them aside momentarily to finish setting up the room, threw on my night garbs, and then crashed onto the bed. It was very soft and comforting, like a fluffy cloud. Once I relaxed, I started having images of Riju flash in my mind. I began to wonder if I had feelings for her, I have never viewed other women that way.

"Is it taboo to like another of the same sex?" I wondered out loud.

I personally did not see anything wrong with it but I wondered how others would react, namely Riju herself. I finally came to the conclusion that I did indeed have a crush on her. My only hope was that she would like me back.
